Friday Feature: Echoes of Distant Warmth and Other Lands

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's our first Friday Feature of December. This month, we're taking a slightly different approach: Each week, I'll feature a different category or medium, explored through the work of one particular Native artisan (with links to the work of other artists in the same category at the end of each post). Today, I wanted to continue with the themes that have dev eloped during this week, which led to an obvious choice: the pottery of Wings's niece, Camille Bernal. For such a towering talent, her work is remarkably modestly priced, but I don't expect that to last long; as she becomes increasingly well known, I fully anticipate that her work will assume its place in the ranks of high-value, eminently collectible Native pottery. For now, though, it's a chance to get in on the ground floor with the amazing work of an emerging artist.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the Contact form. And, as always, sales are much needed, so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

  1. Hey, hitting a gem and mineral show on Sunday.

Dunno if I'll find anything useful, but are there particular types of cabs Wings likes to work with or has been looking for? Specific shapes, sizes, mineral types or colours?

(I'll also post this as an email, since I'm not sure whether you're more likely to see it as email or a comment.)
