Butterfly Maiden Holds the Light In Her Wings (and Other Spirits a Creative Light)

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's Wings's newest work (and a couple of others, too), this one a joint effort by the two of us. I promised new work for today, and I have three items, but we'll begin with today's feature — a true showpiece. Butterfly Maiden holds the light in her wings, and Wings has summoned her small spirit into being for these ever-shorter days of deepening dark.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form, and as always, sales are very much needed now (more than I can say, actually). For the moment, I want to turn to a close-up of this piece, one designed by me. This spirit girl has been in my head for two years now, and Wings's, too, but only now has he had the time and creative space to bring her into being in tangible form. Here's the close-up, and a link to her description:

She is truly a masterwork. It's an amazing thing to see something that I am only capable of visualizing in my head taken, as pure concept, by a master and translated into hard tangible form in silver and stone. The feeling is indescribable.

But she is not the only masterwork he finished today. We also have the newest entry in his signature Mona Lisa series, this one entitled Creation Spirit:

Let me be clear right off the bat: No amount of shooting, of lighting changes, of filters, of anything will do justice to that stone. It's an enormous piece of variscite, the likes of which I've never seen before: swirling layers of midnight blue so intense it's nearly black, with greens ranging from spring to emerald to forest, all spiderwebbed with a bold ivory matrix that looks like lace beaded with tiny bits of copper. It's indescribable, too, but that's as close as I can come.

The setting, though, is what makes it pop. Here's the front, up close:

And lastly, a pair of earrings that he finished eight days ago, and neither of us has had time to do anything with them yet:

These are Evergreen Light, and while they were not made to match the Mona Lisa, they certainly coordinate and complement her well. You can find their description here.

All of these are available now, for the holidays. If interested, you can reach me via the site's Contact form.
