Circling back.

Snow in the dark hours, then mostly blue skies and sun. That photo, taken just before noon, is the point at which the storm began circling back. Now, we have mist-like sprinkles, but nothing more, although the peaks are getting some snow. We'll see if anything more develops here, but so far, I'm not particularly hopeful.

Speaking of circling back, one crisis averted, another already here, in the form of my laptop dying. I'm babying it along right now, but I have no idea how long that will last. The climatic conditions here and the pace I keep are punishing for laptops, especially the sheer volume of imagery I work with daily. The one that I want to get to replace it is Mac's newest top of the line, which should be able to withstand this kind of work for several years. Of course, it's $4K, and until I bring that in in sales, nothing's changing. But I now know we're getting very close to the point at which I won't have a choice, either, because this is clearly not going to last much longer.

Which, of course, means that we will still need to make consistent sales, even without such inducements as this weekend's, because there are still taxes ahead, and then there's this need, growing more urgent by the day, to replace my laptop, and eventually a wheelchair so that a trip to the post office or the store doesn't wipe out my ability to function for the ensuing week. It's . . . a lot. And I'm already on two full nights (out of the last four) with zero sleep, and my joints and connective tissue all decided yesterday that I've been pushing them too far and too fast and they've shut down [if they'd just shut up the screaming at me, it would help, but pain doesn't let up]. Which means that my body is done, too, and so I'm going to be dealing with a full-blown flare into next week, most likely. But I have to get all of these things covered at some point, so there's no let-up in the work, or the pace of it.

So go look; there's phenomenal work on the site, both new and less so. Even with the sales from this weekend, there's still A LOT of incredible work available. And as always, all the regular links are listed below, with sales, as always, being the most important:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here ( we'll always need the liquid soaps that I can't get here, the dog treats for the monsters, and Amazon and Lowe's cards [the Lowe's cards are probably going to have to go on a new fridge, so I'm hoarding them]);
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.

After such a grim 2023, we really need to get this year moving onto a better footing, so please share all of the links.
