Bright blue skies, and the snow is melting fast. Only the three nearest peaks have any to speak of now. Of course, it got up into the seventies here today. I know, I know; the official high was 64, but that's a couple of miles up the road, which is also a little higher elevation, with a lot more tree cover. Here? Thirty degrees too warm.
Last night was also our first hard freeze, a whopper at 30 degrees [yes, I'm being sarcastic], and there are still flowers in full bloom today. It may be pretty, but it's like a lot of shiny things: not healthy for anyone. A couple of months ago, it looked like we'd get a real winter here; now, it's looking like the opposite.
As I've been saying, I'm still trying to get caught up, and I'll be at it for the rest of the year, obviously. I'm slowly getting to everything, and right now, my pain levels are off the charts — which had me confused for a hot second, until I realized how much I've been pushing myself since the change in meds. Just because my brain has the energy and executive function doesn't mean my broken body is able to handle it. Still, we made a few sales this past weekend, and it seems like a good omen [I hope] for the holiday season, which, in creative terms, is solidly in swing now that Halloween is very literally around the corner.
And I'm still also taking on the project of a local-only FB group for mutual aid, because there isn't a convenient central point for such things, and local people are being forced out of their homes and otherwise suffering at a truly diabolical rate now. Somebody needs to do something, and, well . . . . I'm trying to get that launched today or tomorrow, hopefully, although it'll be a work in progress for a good while yet. Whatever economic indicators your party is bragging about? In places like this, it not only doesn't trickle down to ordinary locals, it heightens the stark difference in survivability for local folks compared to the invading hordes of colonizer cash that they use to help only themselves. People here are suffering, and no one gives a shit, and that's not acceptable. I had hoped to get it up and running last weekend, but there just aren't enough hours in the day.
Also, speaking of which, help us help other folks, and buy! With luck, I will have three new works posted on the site tonight, two pairs of turquoise earrings and one very unusual pendant; it all depends on whether I get to them in time to get them fully up or not. Here's the updated list of his most recent new works [with those already sold omitted instead of simply crossed out]:
I posted four new pairs of earrings last week, and the only left is here. The week before, I posted the four new pairs of sterling silver tab earrings, all with Deco-infused stampwork and at a lower price point than most of his earrings: here, here, here, and here. That new necklace I'd been talking about [it's phenomenal] is here. In addition, his new naja pendant is up, here, and his new cuff, here. The former features both an interior pendant and amber cabs at the ends; the latter is extraordinary, two strands of Deco butterflies set with something that's not a stone, but is phenomenal all the same. The first links are the four pairs of sterling silver tab earrings with amazing stampwork that I promised. If I could sell them all, I'd feel a lot more confident about the next several weeks.
The rest of the month [hell, the rest of the year] is going to be geared around making sales, because I don't have a choice about that. I'm so tired after all the nonsense of this year to date, but I can't let up, because so far, we're not even breaking even on the year, and I will have to worry about next year's tax bill soon enough. But there's tons of new work on the site, in addition to all that's coming up shortly [which I believe includes two new pairs of turquoise earrings and two new simple pendants within the next few days], so go look:
- A new stackable solid silver cuff with a Deco influence, here;
- The last pair of the new Picasso jasper earrings in current inventory, here;
- Two absolutely phenomenal new cuffs, here [landscape jasper] and here [extraordinary freehand stampwork];
- An all-new wristband set with turquoise and malachite, here;
- One extraordinary new belt buckle set with an incredible Skystone, here;
- Another new vintage-style cuff with a mysterious Skystone, here;
- Two new pairs of earrings in his gemstone-bead series, here, and here [$175 each];
- Three new cuffs ftwo set with incredible turquoise focals, one solid silver; go here, here, and here.
- Five pairs of new concha floral earrings in the Earrings Gallery here [larger are garnet, golden rutilated quartz, and malachite; the remaining smaller ones are amber and iolite];
- A truly breathtaking Art Deco Labradorite cuff here;
- Triangle wire youth bangle here;
- Art Nouveau vine pattern-wire youth bangle here;
- Small Art Nouveau pattern-wire bangle pair here;
- Malachite butterfly/leaf-wing earrings here;
- A BIG, bold, solid silver classic cuff here;
Five other remaining new pairs of the gemstone-bead earrings are also up in the Earrings Gallery;- And another new seasonal cuff, set with snowflake obsidian, is also here.
There's more on the way very soon. And I need to sell them all, because I still need to make sales weekly for us to catch up on the year and cover all the stuff still in the pipeline that needs covering [roof, more medical, etc.]. So: GO BUY! Links are here:
- Sales here;
- Testimonials here;
- Amazon wishlist here (Priority is the liquid soaps and Amazon cards, probably most useful at this point);
- Patreon here;
- Ko-fi here.
After such a grim year, this one already far worse than the last, we really need to get what's left of 2024 onto a better footing, so please share all of the links.
