Jewels and Gems: Purple Asters and Autumn Twilight

Today at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a purple edition of our Tuesday series on Jewels and Gems: everything from mulberry to lilac to violet to plum, autumn jewels of the desert earth and sky. It's a stone that suffers from misidentification and mispronunciation, often mistaken for amethyst and given an American English distortion of a name rooted in Japanese, one that deserves far greater respect.
