I'm sure someone out there would tell me it's that Mercury's retrograde or something, but this morning has been all about crossed wires. Not even 9:30, and Murphy's Law is already well under way.
That you means you can expect other posts to be exceptionally late today.
I said over the weekend that I wanted to close this stage of our YouCaring fundraiser out this week. In part, that's because we need to launch the next phase, since we're going to have to make certain purchases much earlier than we anticipated. Part of it is that our outlay today alone is astronomical — it'll be about three grand, just for today.
So what I've decided to do is to try and break this down by day. We still need to raise $5K to close out this stage, and I'd like to try to raise $1K every business day this week. [No, it won't replenish the outlays we're making now, but it'll enable us to keep pace with what we'll need to do by week's end.] That means an effort to raise $1,000 today (and then another thousand tomorrow, another on Wednesday, etc., etc.).
Can you help us do that?
Of course, donations are necessary to the effort, and much needed. But right now, all I'm really asking you to do is go to our YouCaring page and use the widgets there to share it. Share it with EVERYBODY. Grab the widget code in the box at the lower right-hand corner of the page, and paste it everywhere you can think of to post it. That code will give you this:
And if it comes with a personal note, so much the better; after all, a lot of you know us well, know what it is that we do on a daily basis, know how we pay it forward as a matter of daily practice even when we don't make it known.
So that's my goal for today (along with all the new work going on here, and all my usual work for a Monday). If you're coming along with us, let's do this!
Thanks, y'all.
