Well, the guys knocked off about an hour ago: Heavy rains make this kind of work impossible. But before that, they made some progress.
Today they picked up the beams for the lintels (to go over the windows). They ordered the red fir beams for the vigas. And they ordered another load of sand for the mortar, which was supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but instead showed up 15 minutes after they left, meaning Wings was out dealing with it in the pouring rain.
None of this would've happened, of course, without the efforts of my warrior sisters elsewhere and the donors they reached. Even so, there's a rumor that they may be ready to start the first stage of the roof as early as next week. I also need to order windows, and we need to talk to the guy we want to get our front door from. So what all this means, of course, is that we still need daily shares of our YouCaring page via its widgets, particularly the one at lower-right that gets you this image:
We also still need daily shares of the link to Wings's site (where I just posted his latest, finished in the middle of a handful of commissions he has under way). This is what keeps the lights on and pays the bills.
Thanks to everyone for your help thus far. I'm buried in work over the next couple of days, but I'm hoping for a little spare time at the end of the week to get to other obligations. [And now it's POURING again . . . .]

I know if it were me, I'd be walking out to wander around inside those rising walls when I had a spare moment, and once the roof goes up, setting a chair or two up in there to sit out there for a short while and look out the window spaces at sunset, or watching the rain if it doesn't whip around and in too much through the openings.
