Work on the house is delayed for a couple of hours this morning. After a whole day in which the long-range forecast predicted no rain at all, it changed drastically after 11 PM last night. Fortunately, I checked it one last time before going to bed at about 11:20, and by 11:40, we were outside covering hay and boxes and wood and Toney's saw.
The crew will be here around 10:30 or 11, most likely. Today's task, as I understand it, is to install the particleboard on the subfloor, preparatory to insulating it, and then they'll begin the framework on the upper level. In a day or two, the photos I post here will look very, very different, and things will begin to move even faster.
We're in the final three or so phases now, all rolled into one in an attempt to beat the snow. We don't have much time. So we're going to need consistent, daily shares of our YouCaring page via the widgets provided. Especially helpful are posts of the widget code from the box at the lower right-hand corner of the page, which gives you the auto-updating image shown above. Also especially helpful right now are shares of Wings's Web site, particularly when they're accompanied by testimonials. If you have some of his work that you love, and would like to offer a testimonial to be posted on the site, simply send it to me by way of the site's Contact form. For those contemplating holiday commissions, now is also the time to inquire; you can send those to me via the same form.
Many thanks to everyone for your help thus far, and for getting our final stage off to a flying start. I'll be following up in the days to come. For now, it's going to be a hugely busy day here, and I need to get at it.
