Glass on order! Shares very much needed.

It feels as though it should be much later here than something a little before 7 PM. Of course, I've been up since four, so that probably has something to do with it. It's been constant upheaval throughout that time, too.

Yes, we're both still sick. We're trying to get Wings in for lab work tomorrow, because pneumonia would be a Very Bad Thing right now. I'm nowhere near that badly off in terms of worrying about it turning into something like that; I'm just miserable from the headache and body aches and fatigue and cough. The horses couldn't care less, of course.

Given the frenzied nature of the day, we've postponed the door guy; he doesn't want to risk catching this anyway. The farrier postponed himself with no notice, instead texting that he would be showing up on Friday at 9 AM instead, which is an absolutely godawful time given what our days are like here, but whatever. Nobody cares about that, either.

The glass guy did show up, however, more than two hours early, and I had to have him come back at the appointed time because Wings needed to be here to finalize it. [Which, as it turns out, was a very good thing, because one item got left off the quote entirely. Of course, this means it will jack the total in a not-insignificant way, but at the same time, we've reduced the cost a bit on it and another one.] Anyway, we wrote out a whopper of a check as a deposit, he has promised to process the order tonight, and if all goes well (and we raise the balance, natch), we may have windows and ancillary doors installed around the first week of December.

The plumbing guys showed up, too, wondering about scheduling the septic system. We have been blessed beyond belief to have days that are still reaching (and even passing) the 60-degree mark, but Thursday is supposed to bring a marked change in temperatures (and dangerous, potentially damaging winds). And that septic system will be a huge hit, given that we have to buy a new one and relocate it entirely, thanks to miserable misinstall of the existing one 17 years ago.

So, of course, we need continued, consistent, daily shares of the link to our YouCaring page via the widgets provided, and especially via the widget code from the purple box at lower right that produces this running tally:

We also need equally consistent daily shares of Wings's Web site, which pays the bills and also funds the construction you see above. [They finished papering and wiring the upper level on the front and the east side today, as you can see.] And if you're considering commissioning one or more holiday gifts, please get hold of me now, so that I can get you order into the queue on Wings's workbench; this is his busiest season, the creative process takes time, and we need to allow enough room to ensure holiday delivery.

Many thanks to everyone who has helped us get to this point. Special thanks at this moment to the folks who, over the last 24 hours or so, have breathed new life into our crowdfunding effort; you know who you are, and we're profoundly grateful to you. This week is already behind schedule in several major ways, and I expect that only to get worse as we try to push through this "final stage" that is actually many stages rolled into one in an all-out effort to beat the winter weather, so please bear with me as I try to make up lost ground.
