I've been up since a little after four, but without much sleep even prior to that point. We're both sick, but Wings has it much worse than I do. And he needs time in the studio today, so I'll be on muck duty and as much of the other heavy labor as I can do.

With the announcement yesterday that Ryan is going to do his best to annihilate Medicare, life just got very much more dangerous. Wings's health is now in very literal jeopardy. It's unlikely in the extreme that he will be able to schedule even one of his knee replacements before January 20th; the possibility of both is out of the question. And the inability to get the surgeries he needs will put him at very real risk. Tuesday's results are going to affect us in very real and terrifying ways, and above all else, we are now driven to get this house finished before  a genuine fascist government assumes office in January. I need to have him housed safely for the winter, even if he can't get the medical care he needs (and make no mistake: IHS will be on the chopping block, too, and the danger to us and ours now is indescribable). 

Forget pride. I had to surrender most of that long ago, but what little is left is irrelevant compared to making sure that he's safe. And if you're thinking about commissioning holiday gifts, time is running out; I need you to get hold of me now, so that he has time to complete them. He's going to be working nonstop over the next seven weeks (and I'll be picking up the slack in terms of physical labor), and I need to make sure the process is as easy on his body as humanly possible right now. He also has several new pieces nearing completion for regular inventory, including the first in a new series of collections within a collection, inspired by recent political developments and the urgent need to fight.

We have to see about ordering a front door today. On Monday, we will write a terrifyingly large check for the deposit on the windows and other doors, a process that will need to be repeated in the same amount in about three weeks' time. We have to get things closed in and plastered before the real snow shows up (the first storm currently projected for next Thursday). And then I have to raise the funds, some way, somehow, to get the interior done and the septic system replaced and installed, because I need to have Wings safely in the house for the winter. Yes, I'm scared. Yes, I'm also going to fight. So is he. But we can't do this alone. We need help.
