Lights on (sort of); plumbing rough-in almost done. Shares needed.

They fixed the piping today. They also finished the rough-in, except for the valves for the showers and tub, which is what I specifically asked about more than two months ago, and the person who was supposed to be able to tell me what we needed told me the exact opposite of what was really the case. And so the one thing we could've taken care of on our last trip to Lowe's was not done, because of yet another . . . it's not a miscommunication. I have thoughts about why that might have been, and they're not good ones.

So. Tomorrow will be spent running around town trying to take care of what's needed here in town, if at all possible, because we cannot get away before Friday, and we won't be able to go then (or the ensuing week, in all likelihood) because the next storm system is due to arrive that morning. Goodbye to all the work I needed to get done tomorrow. Again. On a day when we just shelled out a smooth $6,750, a chunk of which was due to the other massive screw-up, this sort of continual fallout from continual single-source fuck-ups is not doing much to improve my mood.

It's odd, tonight, to see lights in the house. They're not hooked up internally; they're just run to the outside box like the other equipment has been. But Marcos is here working on the wiring until 8, and he needs light to work by, and it gives me a little idea of what it'll look like when we can finally move in. It looks warm.

But there's a long, LONG way to go. And the big setback on the wiring has depleted our resources in a major way, given that the unwiring/rewiring cost was budgeted expressly for the plumbing top-out. So we need to ramp up the shares again, on a consistent, daily basis:
Still, before you share our links, please go share Laura's. Lin's spirit is where the water meets the light, but Laura will still need our help for a while. Please T/R/share/donate to her fund if you can. Especially that last. It's needed.

Thanks, everyone.
