Staining done, but no hanging for the foreseeable future. Maybe no work after this week. Shares desperately needed.

My hands are cramping, but the doors are done. Well, the staining part of it. It still requires three coats of sealant, and given that the winds are projected to begin at 5 AM, that won't be happening tomorrow. I got most of one coat of sealant on the frame, but the back, top, and bottom still need to be done, and two more coats will be required, so the door likely won't be hung this week.

If nothing changes, it won't be hung next week, either.

The annual closure begins tomorrow and runs for two months, and the ski season is abysmal, so tourism is predictably bad. Online sales are also bad, as are donations to our YouCaring page, thanks to what's going on in D.C. right now. And if we don't get a sudden influx of one or the other, this will be the last week the guys work until we do.

Which means we run the risk of losing them to other jobs.

We've both been running, flat out, all weekend; no rest at all. Our workload has been absurd, and we're both exhausted. And I'm genuinely afraid of losing the crew to other jobs, and if we can't pay them, they'll have no choice but to take what they can get elsewhere. Had we not gotten screwed on the wiring, we'd at least be able to keep them working another month, but that's out now. I'm disheartened tonight, to say the least.

There's a lot left to buy, unfortunately, and more flooring and interior paint are both on tap for next week, as are lumber, lath, and plaster material locally.

As for us: Yes, I'm scared. We've come so far, but if we have to lay the crew off now, I don't see how we get any farther unless we're able to bring them back, and soon.
