Staining half-done; more tomorrow. Expensive week ahead; shares very much needed.

So, I spent the day high as a kite.

Okay, not really; just headachy and with burning nasal passages, and that was with doing all of this out in the open air. I can't imagine trying to do this stuff in any kind of enclosed space. But the frame is stained, two coats, and the inside of the doors also have two coats. You can see what they looked like at eleven o'clock this morning, above — and at three o'clock this afternoon, below.

Tomorrow, we flip them and I apply two coats to the front. While they're drying, I begin the sealing process on the frame, then move to the doors: three coats each. I suspect I'll still be sealing on Monday morning, but I'll have to have them done then, because rain and snow are now predicted for Monday afternoon, with snow continuing into Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the tasks and demands for materials and labor continue to pile up. 

We're profoundly grateful to the two folks who added to the effort early this morning. We still need folks to share the links, though, because this will be another enormously expensive week, for both materials and labor. We need consistent daily shares, which cost nothing to do but a few seconds of time:

• I've added Lowe's gift cards to our Amazon wishlist. Those are one of the things we most need, since our materials costs are climbing daily. There's a lot left to buy, unfortunately, and more flooring and interior paint are both on tap for next week, as are lumber, lath, and plaster material locally.
