Taking things out of order today, for a couple of reasons. First, I'll have some new work from Wings to feature at his site, but it may be relatively late in the day. He's trying to get caught up on some commissions that were in the works, as well as a bunch of work for regular inventory that was in process when we got so sick. What you've been seeing lately is the result of that catch-up effort, and later today there'll be at least one and possibly two new pieces coming out of that. Second, the follow-up for his stress test is this afternoon, so we'll be dealing with that later today.
The guys are here and back at work. Plastering isn't feasible because of the weather — oh, no, the weather people's "more than a foot of snow" missed us entirely (it's all rain), but everything's soaking wet and (for here, anyway) humid. There's supposed to be more of this this weekend, and intermittently next week, too, so I have no idea when things will dry out enough for them to do even the scratch coat. And we need the rain so badly that I can't even be upset; this was the driest winter we've had in a while, and things were looking pretty grim for planting.
In the meantime, they're building the casings and sills for the upstairs windows and doors. Both are going to require some extra work and extra steps, so there's plenty for them to do. Meanwhile, Tony solved my problem from last night, so that catastrophe that was will be no more.
In the meantime, we still need shares. Thanks to three kind and generous souls, we have an additional $220 since this time yesterday, so the totals below have been updated accordingly. Here are the share links:
- Wings's PayPal account, for donations to the house fund (out of a current $30K goal, we've as of this moment raised $2,535 since last Monday, leaving a balance of $27,465. If that link doesn't work, it's tied to his e-mail address: wingsoftaos [at] newmex [dot] com.
- His Web site, for sales (always preferable, and the base upon which the whole project hinges anyway, along with paying our day-to-day living expenses) — and just by the way, he's got some really incredible new works up now.
- Our Amazon wishlist, which contains Lowe's cards that will allow us to purchase some materials more cheaply than here in town, and also allow us to divert the extra funds to labor costs.
