Track lights, and a little more progress on tile sorting. More thunderstorms. Shares and sales needed.

This is one of two identical lights that arrived yesterday, after jumping through many hoops and having to bring many people into the process. The box and setting don't give any idea of relative size, but they're very small, and they're going to be the lights for the coat closet and the pantry — especially useful, particularly for the latter, because they are technically one-unit track lights, with the globe itself hinged to direct the beam in the desired direction. They were in stock in Santa Fe when I put together my "shopping cart" list; two days later, they were gone, and no one nearby had them. I eventually learned that the customer service line could track down a pair for me, and they had them shipped from the Glendale, Arizona store, with a $2 discount on a grant total of $7.99 for shipping (so, yes, $5.99), and a five-dollar price reduction on each piece. They were inexpensive to begin with, so getting, in effect, another $10 off makes them a steal.

When they'll get installed is another matter entirely.

My work sorting tile keeps getting rained out, although I was at it long enough today to find three or four dendritic slate tiles (yes, literal dendrites), which makes me indescribably happy. I'll be at it all weekend, too, and probably rained out both days of it, as well. at least today it's just your garden-variety line of thunderstorms.

Yesterday was terrifying.

And as I said then, that kind of severe weather simply points up how desperately we have to get out of this place and into the house. And we can't do that until it's habitable, and it's not there yet. Compared to a year ago, we've made huge progress, but there's still such a long way to go, and we have a lot of extreme weather ahead of us in the very near term, too. This was one of only two times that I've been truly scared for our chances during a storm while we've been in this RV, but this one was bad.

So we need to make sales, and we need shares:
  • Wings's site, for sales;
  • Lowe's cards (the physical version) via our Amazon wishlist;
  • Lowe's e-cards (delivered via e-mail) here; and
  • Home Depot cards via the company site. The e-version using my e-mail address is great; I take the tablet to the store with me, and they scan it off the screen.
There is so much left to do yet before we can move in. And we really don't need another repeat of today, although given the upcoming forecasts, I suspect we'll have one, or probably more than one, before the season's out. So please, please, share the links, and help us get into a safe space as soon as possible.
