Sometimes one small seed is enough to make you happy.

Piñon jay with his prize. Sometimes one small seed is enough to make you happy.

That seems to be the case with my new inhaler. One small dose, and I finally slept — not the whole night straight through, but more than two or three badly-interrupted hours between, say, three and six, which is what it's been for weeks now. Yup. That's ALL the sleep I've been getting, nightly (or, rather, morningly), for weeks now, because my breathing and pain levels have all been so bad I couldn't fall asleep, much less stay there. And I know some of you are going, "You're exaggerating; no one can survive on that," and you're completely wrong, because I've had to do it at many points in my pain-wracked life, and that includes most of the last eight or nine years, and these last few weeks particularly.

Still. Three hundred and fifty frigging bucks, cash on the barrelhead, every month for this is going to get old fast. It's old already. That's $4,200 a year just to breathe. And that's only if this works; it took about three months on the Q-var for the reaction to manifest. This is, as far as I can tell, the only maintenance inhaler whose dispersal system does not use either ethanol or milk proteins, and so it's not an inhaler of first resort for much of anybody, it's probably the only one I can use. I also feel better all the way around this morning, aside from the slight steroid headache that these things always give me initially, so that's one bright spot in all the everything's-terrible that has been the last couple of weeks. My blood pressure feels like it's back in my normal range, too.

Still. Our electric bill is about to skyrocket to dry out this wall. I have no idea what the butcher's bill will be on the plumbing, much less on repairing the wall, before we're done with this mess; it will be well the thousands, without question. And that means that none of the finish work on the house (kitchen stuff, shelving, details, etc.) that we were hoping to do this year will get done. It also eats into stuff like getting the hay cut and baled, which will need to be done within the next week so that it neither burns up nor rots in the fields, and into what I'd hoped to sock away for all the medical testing I still need to have done. [And that may wind up including yet another biopsy on my neck a whole lot sooner than we had anticipated, depending on what my doc decides after her consults with specialists about this new mass.]

So. Sales. Please. I'm begging folks outright, please share our links. I thought I had a reprieve for a little while, and of course, that was too much to ask, and now I'm back buried under this huge financial rock. I can't do this alone. We need to make sales literally weekly to survive, and we're nowhere near that. I'm not asking anyone for donations (although hitting our wishlist is always welcome); I know there are tons of people out there trying to get housed and stay that way right now. Just . . . sales. So please give us a hand with the links, and please submit testimonials that I can post, because I know there are a hundred or so of you out there with Wings's work who hop on here regularly who have never done so. Thanks.
