I promised a new masterwork by Wings for today, and when I say "masterwork," I mean it: A Love Ancient and Eternal, shown above and posted with its full description here.
I love this piece, and it's not just because I helped with some design elements, like the bead strand. That focal stone is amazing, both stone and not-stone — it's called colla wood (pronounced ko-la). It's a rare wood found only in Turkey, and it's not wood that's alive in the usual sense and growing; it's fossilized, with inclusions of chrysocolla (hence the name), along, sometimes, with azurite and malachite. This one has them all, and they're mildly opalized, so there's a subtle shimmer and a lot of shine in the lapidary work. The surrounding cabs are alternating amber and carnelian, with a single aquamarine that picks up the blues in the focal cab. The beads are incredible, too: hand-carved African ebony (wood) in oval barrels and pointy textured cylinders; carnelian, Labradorite, and OLD green turquoise rondels; amber chips; jet barrels; and sterling silver-plated, kyanite, and apatite rounds.
This one is both very, very old and entirely new, and it's infused with spirit, earth, and light.
It's available to ship Priority, in time for Valentine's Day.
You can order it via the Contact form here. Our full current inventory begins with Wings's main page, here. Pleases share, because we have really, really got to make sales now.
