Wind but no rain, and a world on fire.
And our feckless politicians can't be bothered. No, I'm not talking about the Nazis. I'm talking about the cowards who constantly have the name of warriors like John Lewis in their mouths, even as they let our people die.
People don't understand the significance of it. In the reality that is this country in 2020, every single Indigenous death is an incalculable collective loss. But tell me again how I should be supporting candidates who actively worked to harm our peoples in concrete terms, who worked affirmatively to destroy Indigenous sovereignty and rob even more land.
I. am. tired.
This has nothing to do with the pups, or the drought, or any passing problems. I am weary unto death of this country and this culture that, forget solidarity, still does not have the slightest regard for our humanity. And I am tired unto pure rage of the cowardice and craven venality of the party that stands by while the world burns and can't be bothered to do the work, but is always here with its hand out, wanting money from the vulnerable to keep their cushy sinecures amid the flames that kill the rest of us.
I understand the impetus, especially among the young who have been left by the most privileged generation in this country's history with nothing but acid and ashes to make do, to want to burn it all down. The trouble with that is that this is a colonial country thoroughly entrenched in its founding practices of genocide and enslavement, and the first to burn will be those of us whose ancestors they slaughtered from the beginning.
I am so tired.
And that everything else aside, we still have to make sales. Wings has got some gorgeous new work already posted. New piece just the other morning, here. Two brand new and purely phenomenal works from the other day, here. Lots of other new works, too, cuffs and earrings and one new necklace. So please continue to share the links, because we do still need to make regular, consistent sales to get through what's left of this terrible year. They're here:
[Also, the wishlist is back in force. There are things I absolutely cannot get except through Amazon, and I can't add that stress onto all the others now.] Please share everything. Thanks.
