Late tonight because it's been a day. The thing I most needed to get done, which was all the shipping (multiple items and recipients), was finished in under an hour. It was everything else that took forever, and despite the sun's reappearance today, it was not a day to be outside. It's cold. So cold.

The forecast says a low of 11 tonight, but it's always a good ten degrees lower here. We'll undoubtedly hit zero tonight, and the will chills have been terrible. We have both fires blazing, and have since we got home this afternoon.

On the plus side, the elk might pay us a visit tonight. Turns out there's plenty for them to eat, because one of those big bales we bought for the horses (now horse, singular)? Inside, it's full of garbage hay. Too late to do anything about it now, and we have plenty of better stuff for Miika. And the elk, as ruminants, can handle it just fine. If they do show up, they'll have a feast.

And I hope I do not have to go anywhere again until next week. I've got so much to do here, plus new work to get up on the site, and of course, I need to try to sell it, too.

Because we will still (always) need to make sales, and there are plenty of gift-giving events coming up in this new year. Much of the country has just been through a deadly storm, and there's an even more deadly pandemic still raging, utterly unchecked; lots of folks in our various communities are going to need long-term help.
