What we need is a good old-fashioned early winter.

Not a single cloud in the sky this morning, anywhere, on any side. Not one.

Now, in mid-afternoon, a few lenticular bands are starting to show themselves at the horizon — mostly, I think, courtesy of the high winds we're getting now. If this keeps up, there won't be many leaves left on the trees by tomorrow. It feels a lot colder than the actual temp would suggest, but it's still far too warm, and they've erased most of the chane of snow they had predicted for Thursday.

None of this is good.

What we need is a good old-fashioned early winter, the kind of weather we used to get from October onward every year. Of course, then we also need it to last until May, as used ot be our norm, too.

And I suspect we won't be getting any of it.

On the plus side, we had a visit yesterday evening from two of the people dearest to us in the world, and who I don't think we've seen in person for a full year now. We also had a remarkable sales day yesterday, which means that the pressure is now off for getting us through the coming weeks. However, this year has been so slow that we're way behind on everything, including prepaying next year's taxes [that's a zero; a big fat zero]. Which means that I need to continue to bring in consistent sales to get that covered. Once that's handled, I can rest a little.
