Absolutely nothing.

Photo copyright Aji, 2024; all rights reserved.

That came through a little while ago . . . and delivered absolutely nothing. Fortunately, there's another big bank of clouds forming to the southwest, but it's still pale and distant. A lot can happen before it gets here.

If it gets here.

Nothing's changed; everything's still terrible, and the stress is weighing me down horribly right now. More medical stuff within the next three weeks for Wings; mine gets bumped again. I haven't even bothered to call to find out how much my imaging/scans are going to set us back, because whatever it is, we don't have it. The pain's still here, along with the rest, but if there's no money, there's no money.

On top of that, I've already missed the deadline with the IRS to avoid the next round of penalties and interest, but I have GOT to get this off my desk, and there's no way I can do that without really major sales coming in. And there's none of that, which means that I am buried under all of this for the foreseeable, so if it's not related to bringing in sales, I'm likely not doing it. [What I am doing is losing my fucking mind, so there's that.] I got the two new solid-silver cuffs up the other day, here and here, plus a new ingot pendant, here; last night, I got the two Art Deco cuffs posted, here and here, and they're fabulous. There are also a ton of new earrings posted in the Earrings Gallery, all from the last month or so. And it likely won't be until tonight, but there's one new Deco cuff, a smaller one, ready to get posted if I can just get to it. Generating income is all that matters at this point, which means sales are all that matters. Links are here:

The Fire That Calls Down the Dark

Photo copyright Aji, 2024; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a masterwork for the summer season, for the gifts of a world at angles to the night. It's a classic Art Deco cuff, big and bold and wrought entirely freehand around an extraordinary old stone from Wings's personal collection, an embodiment of post-storm skies and the fire that calls down the dark.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formIt's now summer in this no-longer-new calendar year and facing complications and costs, some carried over from the end of last year, some all new, that have completely wiped us out. We need to make consistent sales urgently, so shares are very much needed and much appreciated.

It's endless.

Photo copyright Aji, 2024; all rights reserved.

No rain here today, but two miles up the road? Sudden cloudburst. It was quick; here one minute, gone the next. But that's what summer is here, or at least, what it used to be. This is the closest we've come to "normal" in the last seven years.

Busy day. Again. It's endless, and of course, everything's late tonight as result. I'm hoping to spend the rest of the week doing nothing but chasing sales [well, and housework, but that's always the case]. But I've got to do a lot better on the sales front for the whole rest of the year, given how terrible everything's been for the first half of it.

More medical stuff within the next three weeks for Wings; mine gets bumped again. I haven't even bothered to call to find out how much my imaging/scans are going to set us back, because whatever it is, we don't have it. Red Willow Spirit: After the Rain, the Fire

Photo copyright Wings, 2024; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an edition of Red Willow Spirit for a summer hard at work defying forecasts and expectations alike. It's two images linked by one work of wearable art, all of them illustrating a distinctly local seasonal phenomenon of breathtaking beauty, reminding us that our altered conditions are still bringing us gifts: after the rain, the fire, and after the fire, the rain.

New month, new year [for Wings, because today is his birthday].

Photo copyright Aji, 2024; all rights reserved.

When they come through, they come fast. I shot that photo, and within five minutes, it was pouring so hard, conditions so dangerous, I had to bring the dogs indoors.

It's all gone now; sun's bright, air's humid. Supposedly a chance for more tonight, but if so, it's likely to be late.

Everything's late.

New month, new year [for Wings, because today is his birthday]. I have not been able to get him his gift, because we haven't had the money. Maybe by the time I do, they'll be on sale. He needs shirts [that fit]; he wears the hell out of his T-shirts with all the hard labor around here [and they're disintegrating with all the washing], and all the button-fronts around here are made with really big, tall guys in mind. I found a couple of places with shirts that cater to shorter guys, but . . . I'm sure I'll soon be getting breathless e-mails worthy of the Democratic Party, telling me my shopping cart's about to disappear. But it'll have to wait. All I can do is make him a nice dinner and whatever, but it really burns me that this year has been so terrible on every single front that it's come to this.

On top of that, I've already missed the deadline with the IRS to avoid the next round of penalties and interest, but I have GOT to get this off my desk, and there's no way I can do that without really major sales coming in. Monday Photo Meditation: A Sky of Storm and Fire

Photo copyright Wings, 2024; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a Monday Photo Meditation for a new month, a new year, markers that matter to us, and the return of the rains to celebrate them all. It's an image from a summer sunset twelve years past, when the phenomenon it illustrates, a sky of storm and fire, was common . . . and a gift that might just return today, as well.
