It's been hot and sunny all day until just the last few minutes. There's another storm on the way . . . just in time for the roofing guys, who just got here to take a look at the mess a pair of the guys who built the house made of things up there [the cokehead and the misogynist, to it tracks].
Anyway, this is Nano, who [along with tony, who was here from the beginning] bailed us out when we got the other two gone from the project originally, and his brother, so these are folks we can trust. Right now, though, I just want them [and Wings, who's up there on the roof with them] to get back down here before the lightning starts.
We were up early, and Wings took the truck in, only to learn that it may set us back a minimum of $1K just for the truck repair, if the mechanic can't get Dodge to cough up the part # over the phone. [The idea is that you have to take it into a dealer, who will then haul the entire thing out from the engine compartment, running up bills into four figures just to get a number that Dodge already has on file. Your country is terrible in every respect.] Then there's the roof, and given that we're smack in the middle of the rainy season, it can't wait, nor can the truck ignition. All in all? It sucks.
We've made a good sale, which gave us some breathing room, but that's already receding into the rear-view mirror, as you can tell. Now, we have to get the roof fixed, get the truck fixed, some HAS to go on taxes no matter what, and some gets held out for my imaging next month. There's a lot more than that that it has to cover, and it won't begin to cover all of it, but that's just the immediate term.
So while it helps right this moment, over the long time, it hasn't materially changed a lot of things. The expenses from last year and the first half of this year broke us so badly that we're still way behind on everything. The new wristband is done and up, here, and I will still probably need to make sales at a rate of at least two per week for the rest of the year for us to catch up [and that's just breaking even]. So: Go buy! Please! Links are here:
- Sales here;
- Testimonials here;
- Amazon wishlist here (Amazon cards are probably most useful at this point);
- Patreon here;
- Ko-fi here.
After such a grim year, this one already even worse than the last, we really need to get 2024 onto a better footing, so please share all of the links.
