Hard to believe that little pile is $800 worth of roof repair. That's what we had to shell out this morning, cash, just for materials. Labor's still to come, and that's only a stop-gap to get us to fall: They'll torch down new brai, properly this time, and then when everything dries out in October or so, we'll have to shell a hell of a lot more for the sheet metal.
This is on top of $1,000 cash out the door yesterday to order the part for the truck. There's AT LEAST another grand's worth of labor involved there after the part comes in next week. And then there's all the medical stuff coming down the pike, and the tax bills till outstanding, and, and, and . . . .
I was not, however, expecting to shell out $2K in cash between yesterday and today, never mind the additional thousands next week, and now I have to make that up. Fast.
So while last week's sales/breathing room helps right this moment, over the long haul, it hasn't materially changed a lot of things. The expenses from last year and the first half of this year broke us so badly that we're still way behind on everything. I have GOT to put a big chunk on our tax bill, which is weighing heavily on me constantly. I have four child bangles and a pair of earrings that I am still optimistically hoping to get to tonight , plus that other pair of earrings that I mentioned. He has multiple pairs of bezel-set gemstone earrings, two pairs of silverwork-and-stone earrings, and I think four new bracelets in the works, too, two of which should be ready by tonight, as well; he's finally getting a chance to get caught up a bit on stuff that he's had to back-burner since last year. And I will still need to make sales at a rate of at least two per week for the rest of the year for us to catch up [and that's just breaking even]. So: Go buy! Please! Links are here:

After such a grim year, this one already even worse than the last, we really need to get 2024 onto a better footing, so please share all of the links.
