Every once in a great while, you get a mushroom cloud [more or less literally] that doesn't harm, it heals.

That was this morning. It took several hours, but it eventually coalesced with its relatives into something that managed to bring us, oh, I don't know, maybe two dozen drops of rain? The peaks ad slopes did get a decent storm shower, so at least there's that. There's also a chance of more here tonight, so maybe we'll see some of it here at their feet.

It would be nice to have the other kind of rain here tonight, given that we have a [metaphorical but no less real, and much more dangerous] mushroom cloud of expenses expanding across our horizon now. No, I did not call the radiology people today; I remembered at 4 PM, which is when they close, so it will have to wait for tomorrow. The last several days have seen us both just slammed with the workload, so many other things intervening that need immediate attention that I haven't even been able to get to my usual work until evening. You know, like now. It's been this way since . . . I don't know, four or five days? More? When was the 4th? I don't even know what day of the week it is anymore. I haven't had time to think. About anything. What doesn't get done doesn't get done, not until I can get to it, and the rest of the week ain't looking too likely, either.

At least we have a little breathing room as of this past weekend. Just being able to breathe for a few days is a big deal right now. Even so, the expenses from last year and the first half of this year broke us so badly that we're way behind on every single thing now. Generating income is all that matters at this point, which means sales are all that matters. Wings decided he was unhappy with the new cuff, so that will have to wait until he's redone it to his satisfaction; by then, he'll probably have a few new pairs of simple bezel-set gemstone earrings, too. But apart from recent sales and so forth, we are still way, WAY behind on this year, and I will probably need to make sales at a rate of at least two per week for the rest of the year for us to catch up [and that's just breaking even].
