It's been a terrifying couple of days.

That's the site that greeted us at mid-morning. It's actually a previously scheduled pile burn along the highway that was pushed back to today, but given the current state of the climate here? Terrifying.

It's been a terrifying couple of days. I'm not rehashing yesterday's events again; if you missed it and you really want to know, it's here. Suffice to say that I'm completely wrung out; it's a physically exhausting experience on every level, never mind what it does psychologically, especially with the knowledge that there's likely not ever a fix, and that any one episode could be the one. Right now, between that and the fact that it's chemo day, and everything else going on, I'm so tired I'm surprised I can string a coherent sentence together.

As always. I'm already putting in 12- to 16-hour days every day, 7 days a week, because the work won't wait, and for us, being able to help anyone else starts with us making sales, of course. I also a finding myself unexpectedly under the gun on another front; besides needing to bring in enough in seasonal sales to repay a big chunk on our '24 taxes, the election has made the need to replace my laptop NOW absolutely mandatory, before the end of the year, because the price, already hellish for the one I need, will skyrocket next year. So if you're contemplating buying? Now would be a really, really good time. Our laptop is our whole work, everything, and it fails me on the daily now.

Today's Friday Feature consists of two newish works, created entirely independently of each other but clearly, in hindsight, meant to belong together: a cuff and a pair of earrings set with fabulous Skystones, here.  So for today here, it's another cuff and pair of earrings that were created years apart but are perfectly matched, featuring not cool water and sky but stones of earth and fire:

• "Of Sun and Earth Is Fire Born" a dual-strand cuff of heavy-gauge sterling silver triangle wire with a repeating lightning-bolt pattern on all four upper angles, and set with a perfect oval of tiger iron, here; and
• "Oxide and Flame" earrings, of two matching ovals of tiger iron from the same parcel, a mix of tiger's eye and red jasper and cool hematite, here.

There's more on the way very soon; he's got something like four more cuffs [one potentially ready this evening], a couple of pendants, several new pairs of earrings [again, one, a small tiger iron pair, possibly ready by tonight], and eventually all the new coils he'll need for holiday inventory. And I need to sell them all, because I still need to make sales weekly for us to catch up on the year and cover all the stuff still in the pipeline that needs covering [roof next year, more medical, etc.]. So: GO BUY! Links are here:
