Dunno if that was a prescribed burn that they forgot to mention [the two they did mention are many miles farther away, not practically in our front yard], or just someone with a chimney that badly needs cleaning and clearing.

Pretty, but dangerous these days.

At least we still have snow; we actually have more left on the ground here than there is on most of the slopes on the side of the range. Even when it's cold, the sun is relentless, and it's not going to be very cold for the next couple of weeks, so this is going to melt fast now. And yes, we'll curse the mud that gets tracked everywhere, but only half-heartedly, because the snow has been such a gift; we wouldn't trade it for any amount of mud-free paws and boots.

Now, if only we could both some time to do our real work, but no, apparently not. At least this round of stuff is getting done earlier today, albeit not by enough. It would all be a lot easier if every single one of my joints weren't fighting me every step of the way.

Because we need to have a much better sales year overall, with fewer catastrophes outside our control, than the last two have presented us. And that means, just to break even, at least one sale per week [and we haven't made one yet in 2026, so we're already two full weeks behind, and we need to rectify that tonight, and then some]. To that end, links are here:
