A little new snow.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Well, there's a little new snow on the peaks.  It looked like that at midday, but by late afternoon, it had already begun melting visibly.

Only rain down here, but it was enough to soften the earth and tamp down the dust.

I just wish I could generate the other kind of rain.

I feel like I spend every day trying to get caught up, then get another three dozen problems dumped on me before I get to the second item on my list. I'm so tired. So much fatigue, so much pain, so much grief, so much expense, too.

And all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork [including some bureaucratic bullshit that we shouldn't be having to deal with, but the state is nothing if not venal], the sales work, everything. And everything still has to get paid, and after paying out taxes in cash, in full, and now this? We've got recover a lot of that if we're going to make it through the year. And we've got to maintain it, because we've also got big costs [the side exterior door, for one; the flue cleanings for another; and a set of tires for the truck for a third] immediately ahead. But I have got to get us caught up on this awful year in terms of sales. Two new pairs of earrings going up hopefully later tonight, and there's a ton of newish work on the site. To that end, links are here:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here [and I'm going to be adding new items, because we are literally tapped out; right now, we're almost out of chile and wild rice, both of which are at the top];
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.
And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links. We really do need to get this year onto a better footing than the last two, and so far, it's been pretty grim.

Medicine For a Wild Earth In Need of Healing

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a work for the wildlands medicine of new spring green and too-early stormy skies, landscape jasper set into Indigenous Art Deco silverwork. It's an extraordinary cuff bracelet manifest in the medicine for a wild earth in need of healing.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formApril is nearly done; having sent payment in cash, in full, to the IRS, we are virtually tapped out, and now we badly need to get caught up and recover some of that ground. That begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

It feels like winter again.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026l; all rights reserved.

First blue. They've actually been open for several days now, but they reached peak color today, despite the cold.

And it is cold. May first, and instead of spring, it feels like winter again. Of course, most of that's the wind, but the mercury is lower than it's been in a while.

Then again, it was 96 in February, so . . . ::shrugs::.

I feel like I spend every day trying to get caught up, then get another three dozen problems dumped on me before I get to the second item on my list. I'm so tired. So much fatigue, so much pain, so much grief, so much expense, too.

Friday Feature: The Lights That Watch Over a Fragile Earth at Night

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

It's our Friday Feature at The NDN Silver Blog, with a pair of beautifully earthy and cosmic works created independently of each other but clearly belonging together.  It's a pendant and a cuff bracelet, both set with indigenous staurolite and embossed with the celestial imagery of the lights that watch over a fragile earth at night.
