Less than slim and closer to none.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Beautiful skies this evening. We're supposed to get rain and snow over the next week, so this might be the last of it for a while.

Probably not, though. The likelihood the whole forecast actually coming to pass is probably less than slim and closer to none.

Which is about here things stand across the board right now. We have had to shell out almost $1K in cash this week, one portion of it for a long overdue issue that we were finally able to get handled this morning, the rest for medical and scrip costs, which are off the charts these days. So I've got to make some sales.

All the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork [including some bureaucratic bullshit that we shouldn't be having to deal with, but the state is nothing if not venal], the sales work, everything. And everything still has to get paid, and after paying out taxes in cash, in full, and now this? We've got recover a lot of that if we're going to make it through the year. And we've got to maintain it, because we've also got big costs [the side exterior door, for one; the flue cleanings for another; and a set of tires for the truck for a third] immediately ahead. But I have got to get us caught up on this awful year in terms of sales. Two new pairs of earrings going up hopefully later tonight, and ther'es a ton of newish work on the site. To that end, links are here:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here [and to whomever sent a bunch of items off it that have arrived recently, THANK YOU; there were no purchaser inserts with the items, zip, zero, nada];
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.
And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links. We really do need to get this year onto a better footing than the last two, and so far, it's been pretty grim.

Spring Winds Raise the Wisdom of an Ancient Earth

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a work for a world in peril, embodying an ancient wisdom for us now. It's a cuff set with a timeless focal, fossilized dinosaur bone in a powerfully apt setting, perfect for this season when spring winds raise the wisdom of an ancient earth.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formApril is nearly done; having sent payment in cash, in full, to the IRS, we are virtually tapped out, and now we badly need to get caught up and recover some of that ground. That begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

A lot of new work to come.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

The new bolo. Turns out he's out of the size cord he needs for it, so it'll be a few days before it's complete. But it's amazing: two layers of all-freehand saw-work, scallop-work, scorework, stampwork, overlay, bezel-work . . . and incredible red-web Kingman turquoise.

He's also got two pairs of earrings in the works that should be done tomorrow, incredible top cabs with long, dangling sterling silver pendants. The next thing in the works is a big cuff, but that's a few days off yet. But there'll be a lot of new work to come.

We went absolutely nowhere today, which was a relief. I'm so tired. I still have to get my scrips, which will probably be ready tomorrow afternoon, and see how this new medication works, because my pain levels are completely unmanageable now.

And none of that matters. All the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork [including some bureaucratic bullshit that we shouldn't be having to deal with, but the state is nothing if not venal], the sales work, everything. And the one thing that came out of the tax nonsense is that I was not losing my mind; last year, we made barely more than 50% of the previous year's sales, which tells you how bad Trump is for business [and for everything else except inflicting harm]. The problem is that everything still has to get paid, and we paid in cash, in full, and now we've got recover a lot of that if we're going to make it through the year. And we've got to maintain it, because we've also got big costs [the side exterior door, for one; the flue cleanings for another; and a set of tires for the truck for a third] immediately ahead. Red Willow Spirit: An Earth Held Softly, Breathing Gently

Photo copyright Wings, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an edition of Red Willow Spirit for what should be the time the thaw, for melt and runoff and a world conducive to life. It's three images from an informal series, all dating back some 19 years, linked by a single newer masterwork of wearable art shown form two perspectives, manifestations of an earth held softly, breathing gently once more.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formIt's the latter half of April, taxes paid in cash and in full last week, and now we need to get caught up, in part by making up some of that huge expense. That begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

A month that seems like a year.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Beautiful otherworldly clouds this morning. Of course, the trickster winds returned later in the day.

And it has been a dayLast marker for the month: She-Wolf, who we had to help begin her journey to another plane on this morning eight years ago, after developing interstitial cancer of the bladder, an aggressive, fast-moving form. She got four more months than they told us she would, and when the inevitable happened on the night of the 26th, we had Ted out the following morning to help her. And we still miss her every day; of all our dogs, she was probably the one that was love in its purest form.

And one more reason why I hate April; it's four of these markers in one month.

A month that seems like a year.

Also today, doctor's appointments for both of us, and new meds: one for him, to see if it helps with pain management for his knees; a new med for me plus an increase in my regular pain med to see if it helps me with pain management for everything.

Because everything hurts like hell, all the time. Lots of cash out as a result, and there will be more when we pick up the scrips. And no sales.

Meanwhile, all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork, the sales work, everything. Monday Photo Meditation: An Earth Born of the Thaw

Photo copyright Wings, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a Monday Photo Meditation for a day that began shrouded in clouds and fog, then subject to the cold trickster winds of spring. It's an image that dates back some nineteen years, showing what our world should look now as an earth born of the thaw.

Squalls.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Weird weather. Lots of squalls, a dusting of snow on the peaks that's mostly aleady gone, a few scattered drops down here.

And vicious winds.

Also, more nonsense from the group, or probably more accurately, from someone banned from it for engaging in bad behavior, and I've had to spend way too much time on other people's bullshit lately.

Meanwhile, all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork, the sales work, everything. The Subtle Earthy Hues of Spring

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog it's a work  in the colors of coral and moss to match the soft shades of this incongruously ferocious day. It's a pair of earrings from one of Wings's signatures series of gemstone-bead works, this one strung with powerful ancient materials in the subtle earthy hues of spring.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formApril is nearly done; having sent payment in cash, in full, to the IRS, we are virtually tapped out, and now we badly need to get caught up and recover some of that ground. Nothing left.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Look at that. It's still April, and there's nothing left. That doesn't even begin to count as "snow."

Except now, the jackasses who've helped destroy it [including that billionaire asshole who now owns the Ski Valley] brag about six fucking inches of snow on the summit in the middle of winter, as though that's not reason for funereal mourning.

It's pathetic. It's also killing everything.

I'm tired. I'm sad. I'm fed up. I'm grief-stricken. And I am in so much pain right now that I can't see straight, and I have absolutely no patience for anyone's bullshit.

And this week? Has been overflowing with bullshit, on every single front.

People gonna learn. You jerk me around, you don't get a chance to repeat it. I clean house with a quickness. [Yeah, if you're stupid enough to try stalking me on social media?  Y'all are exactly who I'm referring to. You're not coming back. Period. NONE of you.] Yeah, nothing left of my patience, either.  I am sick unto death of people with no morals, no ethics, no consciences, and no basic decency.

But having to put out all these stupidly unnecessary fires just takes away from the very small amount of time I already have in which to get everything done, and all that does is piss me off more. Meanwhile, all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork, the sales work, everything. The Light That Dances Like Flames

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a masterwork for a season of sundancing, not the ceremonial practice but the literal step and turn of our nearest star. It's one of Wings's newer pairs of earrings, a traditional and complex design featuring five cabochons and ten individually overlaid sunbursts per drop, all of them manifest as the light that dances like flames.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formIt's already the second half of April, we bit the bullet and mailed the check in full to the IRS last Wednesday, and now we badly need to get caught up and recover some of that ground. Nothing except more wind.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Lots of wind this afternoon; beautiful evening clouds that brought nothing except more wind.

My bones hurt.

In theory, we're supposed to get rain on Sunday, but unfortunately, we're also supposed to get even more wind, so I'm not sure how much that helps.

Once again, no chance to work on any kind of normal schedule, so here we are, everything late again. Meanwhile, all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork, the sales work, everything. Friday Feature: Glimpses of Metallic Flame

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

It's our Friday Feature at The NDN Silver Blog, with a trio of works that capture all the aspects of our planet's capacity for fire. It's a pendant, a pair of earrings, and a cuff bracelet, all set with tiger iron, an extraordinary natural blend of iron oxide materials that, like this evening's twilight skies, offer glimpses of metallic flame.

Goth pigeon.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

It's been another exceptionally lousy day. Have a Goth pigeon. Solid black, but iridescent; L'Estat as rock dove. He seemed to know he was being photographed, and was only too happy to pose for it.

Yeah, I know, but after the way this week has gone, I take my entertainment where I find it.

A lot of my irritation has to do with the wind, which jacks my pain levels into the stratosphere, and absolutely nothing touches it. Pain meds? Nah. Nothing.  Some of it's just the residual effects of all of yesterday's bullshit, which was exhausting, infuriating, and mostly stuff I should never have had to deal with, but people will be assholes.  Some of it's longstanding nonsense. And some of it is the fact that everything is shit, and it's the fault of the people who would call themselves "leaders," and I am enraged that they are such cowards, so venal, so unwilling to do the barest minimum of their jobs, so complicit in the evils that got us here. The work I do daily with mutual aid shows me the evils the Dems continually inflict, piled onto the murderous monstrousness of the Republicans, and they have the fucking temerity to ask US for money? Multiple times a day? While running campaigns that are pure shit? Oh, hell, no.

I'll take the Goth pigeon, thanks.

Meanwhile, all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork, the sales work, everything. I also had to do a lot pf physical labor today that has made my pain levels much worse, so there's that. #TBT: The Scarlet Haze of a Spring Sunset

Photo copyright Wings, 2026; all rights reserved.

It's #ThrowbackThursday at The NDN Silver Blog, with a #TBT featured work that dates back almost 15 years, to late 2011, and to one of the scores, perhaps hundreds of unique entries in Wings's signature series, The Warrior Woman. It's one that holds al of her regular features in common, from her great heart to the powerful stampwork of her traditional dress and crescent moon, to the garnet cabochon in her right hand that captures the scarlet haze of a spring sunset in all its mystery and beauty.

The post is here. Wings's main page is hereThis work will never be duplicated exactly, but if the general style speaks to your spirit, simply inquire via the site's Contact form; Wings can create a version uniquely your own. It's nearly the end of April already, taxes paid last week in cash, in full, and we need to get caught up and begin recovering some of that enormous expense. Green in strange places.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

More spring weirdness — green in strange places. That's two aspen clones that found their way beneath the shelter for the propane tank, then came up through the earth between the latillas and the tank.

Glad something's thriving, because I'm certainly not. Two different types of bad news today, so there's been that. Also, FB finally decided last night that yes, I am actually me, and let me back in . . . and wow, is the bad behavior coming out among certain corners of the group.

Nah, I don't play. Pull that ish, you're gone and not coming back. But i have now spent the whole day, and then some, on that last round of crap, and I'm ready to start breaking things. It doesn't help that both knees are subluxed in such a way that I can't extend either one completely, so walking is both extremely painful and has me looking like Quasimodo. I'm so tired.

Meanwhile, all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork, the sales work, everything. The one thing that came out of the tax nonsense is that I was not losing my mind; last year, we made barely more than 50% of the previous year's sales, which tells you how bad Trump is for business [and for everything else except inflicting harm]. The problem is that everything still has to get paid, and we paid in cash, in full, and now we've got recover a lot of that if we're going to make it through the year. Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, with an all-new work set with an old, old cabochon of beautifully glittery material. It's a cuff bracelet with a goldstone cabochon on a slender band embossed with perfect stampwork, both manifest in all the shades and shimmer of molten suns.

If only everything were so simple.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Pure joy. They all got marrow bones today, and Stormy wound up with the biggest one of all.

If only everything were so simple.

It's been a hell of a day. the first half of it was hijacked by nonsense, and we're not doing that again. People who want help via the mutual-aid work I do would do well not to underestimate me, not to assume I was born yesterday, not to assume I can be manipulated, and not to cause me to have to deal with a bunch of unnecessary bullshit.

Worse?  Don't do it before I've had my coffee. Also, yesterday was chemo day, and I've had to raise my dosage level again slightly, because the last few days have made it clear that things cannot go on this way, and my pain elvels are off the charts, as are my fatigue levels, and that is not the time to try me with bullshit, either.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an edition of Red Willow Spirit for unseasonably warm spring days that nonetheless need the help of the fire and the light. It's two images from this season three years ago, linked by a single all-new work of wearable art, all of them reminders, in these dark days as the world burns and breaks apart, that there is light in the rift, and through the smoke.

It's rarely dull.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

A commission that's been in the works. There's one more hair cuff that's part of it [it and the hammered one on the right are not a part of the rhyolite set, but commissioned by the same friend]. And no, the lighting isn't good here, but under either natural or artificial direct light, the stones are all warm dusky red and rose. This was shot in shadow at the end of the day, hence the dullness of the photo.

Which is about the only thing that's been dull. Lots of stress here, but it's rarely dull, I'll give it that. Sunny puked up bone shards first thing this morning, before I'd even had my coffee. Since then, it's been one thing after another, because the just doesn't let up. Also chemo day, and I've had to raise my dosage level again slightly, because the last few days have made it clear that things cannot go on this way. We'll see whether it helps or hurts [or simply does nothing at all].

And we've got to maintain it, because we've also got big costs [the side exterior door, for one; the flue cleanings for another; and a set of tires for the truck for a third] immediately ahead. Those three new cuffs are up; in the next couple of days, I'll have his new bolo posted, and possibly a couple of new pairs of earrings, too. But I have got to get us caught up on this awful year in terms of sales. To that end, links are here:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here [and to whomever sent a bunch of items off it that have arrived recently, THANK YOU; there were no purchaser inserts with the items, zip, zero, nada];
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.
And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links. We really do need to get this year onto a better footing than the last two, and so far, it's been pretty grim.

Monday Photo Meditation: A Veiled Pearlescent Fire

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a Monday Photo Meditation for one of the rare phenomena of spring here, for those moments when morning fog wraps a wind-battered world in a gentle but powerful light. It's an image that dates back three years almost to the very day, with the peaks enfolded in fog and a veiled pearlescent fire in the sky.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formIt's the latter half of April, taxes paid in cash and in full last week, and now we need to get caught up, in part by making up some of that huge expense. That begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

Wings's newest.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Wings's newest. It's a bolo; he still needs to add the cord and tips, but other than that, it's essentially done. That stone, believe it or not, is natural Kingman, pale sky blue with ultra-fine spiderwebbing in red and black and white.

He's finished up one commission, a belt buckle, and is nearly done with another, a multi-piece one. He's got a couple of pairs of earrings in the works, and a cuff, and I finally got those three new cuffs fully up today.

And today has been rough. I cannot get my pain levels or my fatigue under control. I didn't really sleep last night, but that's merely a aggravating factor; the fatigue was already there. And no, it doesn't matter that lack of sleep makes me exhausted; autoimmune disease disrupts the sleep part of your brain, and I may or may not sleep tonight.

If not, tomorrow will be a nightmare.

Meanwhile, all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork, the sales work, everything. The Golden Glow of Smoky Suns

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a pair of earrings that captures the rising and setting of smoky suns, and the light that compensates for our extended wildfire season. It's a pair of classic concha-style earrings, wrought not to match each other but to live up to their name, manifest in the golden glow of smoky suns that will bookend the hours of this night.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact formIt's already the second half of April, we bit the bullet and mailed the check in full to the IRS on Wednesday, and now we badly need to get caught up and recover some of that ground. That begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

Greening up.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Clear blue skies; earth greening up. No snow, though, and it's far too early for all those bare peaks.

It also got down into the teens last night, courtesy of those god-awful gale-force winds blowing all the clouds apart. All the troughs and water bowls froze. I also don't think we're getting lilacs this year. The buds have been out for a month, two months too soon, and as of this morning, they're purply-black and withered, so I'll be very surprised if we get any petals out of it.

That's one of the hazards of this aspect of climate collapse.  We're extremely lucky that it didn't destroy the pear tree.

I'm so glad this week is almost done. It's been a nightmare, and I'm so far beyond exhaustion now that I can barely function. No amount of sleep is enough. It doesn't help that, despite FB locking me out of my 20-year account and my own damn group, people are still managing to get hold of me daily with new crises that need funding.

The problem is that everything still has to get paid, and we paid in cash, in full, and now we need the metaphorical kind of greening up. And we've got to maintain it, because we've got big costs [the side exterior door, for one] immediately ahead. To that end, links are here:

The Perfect Clarity of the Mid-Morning Sky

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's one of Wings's newest works, a pair of classic earrings built around perfectly matched Skystones. It's a pair that became an immediate personal favorite, both for the beauty of the silverwork and the intensity of the blues in the stones, together capturing the perfect clarity of the mid-morning sky at this season.

Strange clouds, strange skies.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

That was this morning: strange clouds, strange skies. The winds were already up, and tey battered everything all day long.

Including me. My joints are screaming at me.

I'm so glad this week is almost done. It's been a nightmare. Meanwhile, all the work still has to get done: the housework, the paperwork, the sales work, everything.
