Dangerous winds and unhappy lungs. New medical expenses looming. Sales needed now; subscribers and shares help, too.

Welp, yesterday's wind was nothing compared to last night's: high and howling straight from the north, brutally, dangerously destructive and cold. It's warming up quite a bit today, so I hope the wind stays silent for a while. My lungs are not happy with all of this.

Another appointment scheduled for just after the first of the year; still waiting on the damn tests, or even any word on anything related to it. For now, it's always, always, the chase for sales in an effort to pay the never-ending, never-shrinking pile of medical bills. Wings has a brand-new piece up, here, and it's one of my new favorites. It's big and solid and absolutely beautiful. And we're down to about the last of the shipping days to get stuff where it needs to go for Christmas, so get your orders in now.

And as I keep saying, I also have to spend today (EVERY day) on work that brings in actual scratch, sales or subscribers or otherwise. Whatever else is bearing down on me, that always has to be Job 1. Ordinarily, the sales and commissions we get this time of year are what see us through six long hard months of winter (but that has not the been the case the last couple of years); on top of ordinary winter cost of living and now this construction mess, I have more tests upcoming soon on top of the tens of thousands of dollars' worth of medical debt already trying to drive me into an early grave. Time is short for the holidays, so if you have special orders, get them in to me now so he has time to create them for you. For now, though, I'm so far behind on this day (and on the week as a whole) that I'll never catch up, so most of the rest is cut-and-paste.

Most of my attention has to be focused on bringing in money, through sales or subscribers or any other means, because the bills don't pay themselves, either, and the heavy burden I'm carrying on that score is inhibiting my ability to heal in a not-insignificant way. Please share these routinely:
  • My new Patreon, The Interstices (Writing Between Worlds) (and if you subscribe today you won't be billed until January 1st for December);
  • Wings's site, for sales, with new items posted;
  • Wings's direct PayPal link;
  • A way to buy me coffee (which actually goes to all of our medical bills, which continue to mount);
  • Amazon wishlist, which mostly consists of animal and household stuff;
  • Partial registry #1, from Bed, Bath and Beyond. There are new kitchen-y things on it now, stuff that I didn't realize we'd need to replace (either because the RV ruined it or because we gave it away when we had to downsize).
Please share the links. We're now officially into holiday order season, because commissions take time, so if you're planning on holiday gifts, please keep Wings's work in mind. And given what we're up against, we won't turn away donations, either, because we simply can't afford it.

#TBT: Reaching For the Light

Photo copyright Wings, 2018; all rights reserved.

It's #ThrowbackThursday at The NDN Silver Blog, with a work from a dozen or so years ago infused with powerful spiritual symbols. It was a pair of earrings fashioned in the form of hands, bearing motifs that served as a prayer to Spirit, a seeking of wisdom, of guidance, of illumination of the path — reaching for the light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. These obviously sold long, long ago, but if the general style speaks to your spirit, simply inquire via the site's Contact form; Wings can create a version uniquely your own. And, as always, sales are very much needed (especially now; taxes and repairs and testing and a new appointment coming up in two weeks, all on top of five figures' worth of existing medical bills), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Christmas trees and vicious winds. New work by Wings, and sales badly needed.

Photo copyright Aji, 2018; all rights reserved.

Our tree, with one of our few remaining old ornaments on it. There is something about a lit Christmas tree at night, decorated with glass ornaments and brilliantly-colored lights, that is so beautiful that it makes me weep.

I smashed into the proverbial wall last night. Autoimmune, cardiorespiratory, all of it. I think I'm fighting a bug — I've been out around other people a lot more than usual these last couple of weeks, and it seems like everyone in town is sick right now — plus I'm completely run down. This hasn't been burning the candle at both ends, it's by dynamiting it. To top it all off, we've got high winds today, and vicious wind chills, and I'm staying inside as much as humanly possible now because my body doesn't handle this well (or at all) anymore.

Always, always, the chase for sales in an effort to pay the never-ending, never-shrinking pile of medical bills. Wings has a brand-new piece up, here, and it's one of my new favorites. It's big and solid and absolutely beautiful. And we're down to about the last of the shipping days to get stuff where it needs to go for Christmas, so get your orders in now.

The Way of the Hoop Is the Way of the Light

Photo copyright Aji, 2018; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an all-new work by Wings, one wrought in beautifully traditional motifs by way of silver light and copper fire. It's a melding of symbols of powerful and deeply personal meaning, to remind us that the way of the hoop is the way of the light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. And, as always, sales are very much needed (taxes and repairs and tests and five figures' worth of medical bills, and another $175 out the door just now for the annual septic clean-out), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Red Willow Spirit: The Tools of the Earth Do the Work of the Light

Photo copyright Wings, 2018; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an edition of Red Willow Spirit for the year now ending, and for the hope and promise, the work and light of the one to come. It's a reminder that the ordinary is often extraordinary, and that like the most mundane objects of life, that applies to us, too, for the tools of the earth do the work of the light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. As always, Wings's photos are available for purchase in any of the usual three formats; simply inquire via the site's Contact form. Also as always, sales are very much needed (especially now; repairs and taxers and tests and an avalanche of existing medical bills), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Snow around the edges, but not here. Out of order and time both. Sales very much needed (gift certificates now available!); subscribers and shares, too.

A little new snow on the slopes, but it's all around the edges; nothing down here. Wimpy clouds today, but nothing will come of them except tomorrow's forecast wind, which means pure misery for me and for Raven.

Out of order again today because I am going to be on the run all day long (okay, on the hobble, but whatever), and I have no idea when I'll get to Wings's post. Might be a couple hours from now; might be this evening. I have to make it through Friday, and then maybe we can both relax a tiny bit, because shipping for Christmas and other stuff will be impossible at that point. In the meantime, though, we need sales, and go here for our newest offering: gift certificates!

And as I keep saying, I also have to spend today (EVERY day) on work that brings in actual scratch, sales or subscribers or otherwise. Announcing something all new: NSN Silver gift certificates!

Photo copyright Aji, 2018; all rights reserved.

We're trying something new this year: For the first time ever, we're offering NDN Silver gift certificates!  A dear friend asked us to make this an option, and we've decided to offer it on a trial basis to the public as a whole. They're perfect for that hard-to-buy-for person; they can be used toward whatever is in inventory at the time, or put toward a special commission.

There are limitations, of course. Minimum value is $50; they can be purchased for any amount above that, in whole dollar amounts only. They're not redeemable for cash, nor will cash be given as change; the entire amount must be used toward the purchase. They're good for one year from date of issue. And these are not cheap to make, believe me, so cost is face value plus $10 shipping and handling.

You can see a larger version of the image, plus the description, here. You can order via the Contact form here.
