Not enough for a pattern.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Lots of stormclouds today, lots of wind and dust, and an hour or two of rain. That's two days straight of discrete rainstorms, which is encouraging, but not enough for a pattern.

Yet.

All the other patterns are irritants at best, and enraging at worst.

Of course, once again, everything's late. My pain levels are completely out of control now, and it appears that there's nothing I can do about it. It's making me slow, and my workload keeps increasing y the day, drastically so. And like I said yesterday, all I can do is keep slogging, moving on to the next thing, and the next, and the next. That includes all the time I'm losing to this bureaucratic nightmare, all because resentful colonizers won't do their damn jobs, and all the time I keep losing to other people's bullshit.

But I've got to bring in a lot more sales and I can't even get enough time to chase them because of everything else. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got a couple of other big-ticket things to take care of this month, and that only happens if we make some sales now. And we can still use help with shares, testimonials, wishlist stuff I can't get to yet, etc. To that end, links are here:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here [I'll be adding some new items soon, things we could really use but that I can't justify spending money on right now, like some sheets and towels];
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.
And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links. We really do need to get this year onto a better footing than the last two, a year that, so far, has been very grim.

#ThrowbackThursday: Dust and Clouds and a Dusky, Fiery Light

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

It's #TBT at The NDN Silver Blog, with a #ThrowbackThursday featured work that dates back only to April of this year, and a very special multi-part commission from a dear friend. It's a pair of earrings, part of a matching set of three works built around dusty red rhyolite cabochons, manifest in the high-desert summer's dust and clouds and a dusky, fiery light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is hereThis work will never be duplicated, but if the style or stone speaks to your spirit, simply inquire via the site's Contact form; Wings can create a version uniquely your own.  We still have to ensure that we break even on the year, and that begins  with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

A real storm, real rain.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

That was at sunset, the front clearly visible as it departed. It was followed by another one later, but the strange thing is that, even though they're following the rhythms of the monsoonal patterns that we once had here, they're not actually following the patterns themselves. To do that, they would come from the southwest, and instead, these are  starting in the northeast, and moving around to the southeast, whence they move overhead for us now.

I have no idea what the correct term for these patterns would be. But it's a real storm, real rain, and we're grateful for it.

Also, you don't realize just how much drought makes the land stink, of dust and dirt and smoke, until you step outside after a real rainstorm and the whole world smells clean.

From the Gentle Glow of Dawn to the Sunset's Flames

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a masterwork by any measure, a necklace manifest in all the shades of the sun. It's an extraordinary combining of three unusual and very varied gems, suspended from. strand of beads hand-selected specifically to match, capturing the whole of the light, from the gentle glow of dawn to the sunset's flames, and everything in between them.

Coyote's back. In more ways than one.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

A while bfore sunset this evening, I could hear Emmy squawking her head off in the chicken coop; our lone remaining 'lorp, along with two Americaunas. Two of the dogs were outside, and the useless mutts were just lying there, looking the other direction.

Meanwhile, Coyote's back. In more ways than one.

No, he couldn't get into the coop; he went away yet again without another chicken dinner. But clearly I have to keep an eye out myself, since our worthless "watchdogs" aren't watching anything at all.

It'st been a day, and I am so freaking tired, and I have so much work to do before I can sleep. I'm falling further behind every day, and  today, I was so close to being paralyzed by it all that I just put my head down and slogged through the next thing, which i this case has been getting his new work up on the site, some of it waiting for two or three weeks now.

Bu today has been spectacularly bad. It's been a while since every single joint system in my body has been in such all-encompassing pain. Yesterday was chemo day, which I would've expected to help a little, but no, which may mean that it's time to raise the dose again. I've had no choice but to add the steroids. The pain meds aren't even taking the edge off right now. And I don't know what to do; I don't have time for this.

And I've got to bring in a lot more sales and I can't even get enough time to chase them because of everything else. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got a couple of other big-ticket things to take care of this month, and that only happens if we make some sales now. Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an edition of Red Willow Spirit for the atmospheric magic of the rainy season's heart, even if it's a season we no longer have. It's three related images linked by two spectacularly apt works of wearable art, all of them manifestations of the twilight fire in the summer sky.

Momentary.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

That was just before dark tonight. Not nearly as spectacular as the one in today's NDN Silver post that Wings shot 18 years ago, but still impressive.

And momentary.

No rain today; plenty of heat. It's been an absolutely brutal summer, and the heat has made it that much worse, especially given the damage caused by that medication and the worsening of my illness. And I'm just so tired. All the time.

And I've got to bring in a lot more sales and I can't even get enough time to chase them because of everything else. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got a couple of other big-ticket things to take care of this month, and that only happens if we make some sales now. Monday Photo Meditation: A Full Spectrum of Fire In a Late-Summer Sky

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a Monday Photo Meditation for what should be this month's post-storm sunset skies, setting the twilit sky aflame. It's an image that dates back eighteen years virtually to the day, and to a truly phenomenal atmospheric effect, a full spectrum of fire in a late-summer sky.

All the Power of Petals and Flames

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an all-new trio of works that Wings's newest signature series, The FireFlower Collection, comprises — necklace, loop earrings, and coil bracelet, all wrought of truly extraordinary materials. These works are offered separately, but clearly belong together, collectively manifest in all the power of petals and flames.

There's just too much going on right now.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Yes, out of order again today, because there's new work, some of which is getting featured in today's post. Those are the two necklaces that are currently done; both have coordinating earrings, and the peach-colored one has a coil already complete. The matching coil for the blue one might be done tomorrow.

It's been a day. In addition to all the usual stuff, it's been laundry, linens, etc., plus helping with all of this. He's finishing up three other works to ship tomorrow or Tuesday, hopefully, plus he's got other new stuff going besides the bead pieces. I'll have one of the silverwork pairs of earrings probably tomorrow, possibly the new necklace [a multi-stone figurative pendant, 3 focal and 5 accent stones, on matching beads], and . . . I forget what else. There's just too much going on right now.

Doesn't help that the lupus and RA [and whatever else I have that  to date remains unDX'd] are making me incredibly ill right now. The heat is making that much worse. This summer has been so terrible; we're both looking forward to fall at this point, but that assumes that fall is significantly cooler, and obviously, that's no sure thing anymore.

And I've got to bring in a lot more sales and I can't even get enough time to chase them because of everything else. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got a couple of other big-ticket things to take care of this month, and that only happens if we make some sales now. That time of year.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

I told you he'd have more new bead pieces coming shortly. This one will also have a coordinating pair of earrings, and I think a coordinating coil, too.  There are other necklaces in the works, but I'm not sure yet whether he's planning the matching earrings and bracelets for them or not.

It's that time of year, gearing up for the silly season of holiday sales. Which I guess is better than dwelling on the fact that it should be the rainy season now, but instead we've got record heat, smoke, and wildfires.

It's been a frustrating day at the end of a bad week. And I've got to bring in a lot more sales and I can't even get enough time to chase them because of everything else. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got a couple of other big-ticket things to take care of this month, and that only happens if we make some sales now. The Changing Seasons of Summer

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a work for these hot days that nevertheless look like autumn, too early arrived, and for what remains of the season's gifts now. It's the oldest of the works in Wings's signature series, The Beaded Hoop Collection, still at its original price point, manifest in the shades and textures of the changing seasons of summer.

It could go either way.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Eerie pink bands in the southern sky tonight. In theory, we should get rain, but it could go either way: spin out around us, delivering absolutely nothing; or a banger that knocks out everything. my guess is the former, but who knows?

It's been a lousy end to a lousy week. I'm so tired of assholes. I'm especially tired of governmental assholes, and I should not be having to deal with them but here we fucking are. I need a break, I need a week, or ten, with no one bothering me, and I need people to do their fucking jobs, but I won't get any of that. I also won't catch a single break from the pain and fatigue, or any of my other symptoms from this stupid disease.

And I've got to bring in a lot more sales and I can't even get enough time to chase them because of everything else. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got a couple of other big-ticket things to take care of this month, and that only happens if we make some sales now. #TBT: The Medicine of a Fiery Sky and a Teal Green Twilight

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

It's #ThrowbackThursday at The NDN Silver Blog, with a #TBT featured work that dates nearly a year, to a commission for three related works intended to form a family legacy. It's a bolo, one of a trio wrought in similar yet distinctive fashion, this one edged with a pattern and set with a stone to honor the medicine of a fiery sky and a teal green twilight.

Late.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

More work in the studio. That was late, though; today was a mess, and a costly one, just because that's what everything is these days. Nothing works, there's no recourse, and all the prices keep skyrocketing.

Out of order because I have no idea when I'll have today's NDN Silver post done, as late as it is now. The last several weeks have been urelievedly terrible, and today was no different. It didn't help that it's also what would've been my late sister's birthday [the good one, the one who was murdered], and we've lost and are losing so much in the way of loved ones that it's affecting me a lot more than usual right now.

Monsters, still walking around profiting, getting richer, still killing people, while the good people, ones we love, keep being ripped away too soon.

And I can't even focus on anything, not on mourning, not on spending time with people, not on anything I want or need to be doing, because I'm too busy dealing with other people's bullshit [by which I mean governmental entities continually engaged in fuckery]. I've got to bring in a lot more sales and I can't even get enough time to chase them because of everything else. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got a couple of other big-ticket things to take care of this month, and that only happens if we make some sales now. Doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

More work on current projects. These are small bezels for earring orders; might be done tomorrow, if all goes well.

That last clause is doing a lot of heavy lifting, though.

Tomorrow's going to be hell for me, given that it's going to require me to be in line, on my feet for an extended period, and spending a hellish amount of money. There's no choice; it has to get done. But I've been in such bad shape all week that it's likely to be enough to flatten me from now through the whole weekend.

It's one of the reasons everything's so late all the time right now. It's hard to work when the pain won't release it's grip, even with pain meds; harder still when. the fatigue is so bad that my brain feels like its imploding beneath the weight of everything right now. That's what this illness is, and what it does, but I would really like to catch a break for a bit, because we can't afford for me not to be bringing in sales right now.

Aside from the need to make up all our other expenses from the last week, which was costlier that I expected on the medical front, particularly, it's been a hellishly costly year, on top of several recent years that have been the same, and there's a lot more expense to come. I've had to order some supplies for him already, but I also need to order silver for him, which is absurdly expensive now [gouging; it's gouging, and no, I have not been able to order it yet], and will only get more so as we head into fall. We've got an enormous Rx expense coming up in two days [if what the doc ordered for him is actually in, between his and mine, it'll be $1,500 or morel that's gouging, too, and an utter failure of policy, but then this country is a failed state now, entirely]. We've also got a couple of other big-ticket things to take care of early this month, and that only happens if we make some sales now. And we can still use help with shares, testimonials, wishlist stuff I can't get to yet, etc. To that end, links are here:

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an all-new work, featured here for the first time, to capture the beauty and power of earth and sky at the end of a day marked by clouds and smoke. Not even enough to tamp down the dust.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Once again, hours upon hours of glorious stormclouds . . . and once again, just a few faint scattered drops.

Not even enough to tamp down the dust.

At least we had less smoke than yesterday. Not much less in the way of heat, though. We were talking this morning about how much we're looking forward to fall . . . and winter. We've always been fall ad winter people, but this summer has set that in stone at this point.

We need rain desperately now, and we'll need snow this winter, too. But we very much need it to rain in the metaphorical sense, at the monsoonal level. Aside from the need to make up all our other expenses from the last week, which was costlier that I expected on the medical front, particularly, it's been a hellishly costly year, on top of several recent years that have been the same, and there's a lot more expense to come.
