After a Rare Autumn Rain

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a work perfect for this day, built around a strikingly unusual focal stone that embodies the post-storm evergreen sunset common to the summer rainy season. And while this is very far from summer, it reminds us to be grateful for our unusual weather new, for after a rare autumn rain, we may find our world renewed in time to create our first real winter in years.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. We still have to ensure that we break even on the year, and that begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

Friday Feature: A Love Warm and Radiant

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

It's our Friday Feature at The NDN Silver Blog, with a work that is as perfect as it gets for a day and month ostensibly devoted to love. It's a necklace whose pendant is wrought freehand and set with a cabochon of truly transformative material, an equally perfect manifestation of a love warm and radiant, capable of healing this wounded world, and ourselves.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. It's a new calendar year, and we very much need to make this a better than the last two have been. That begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail, and it's February already and we're still three weeks behind on the year thus far.

Today's All-New Masterwork

Photo copyright Aji, 2022; all rights reserved.

It was eleven days ago that I featured Wings's relatively recent masterwork entitled  Migratory Paths, a wide traditional cuff adorned with his trademark microstamping and a free-flying overlay of an entire butterfly, wings floating above the band. It was also a day when I caught a few shots of the red-tailed Hawk who shares this space with us, one leaping into the winds, a few stationary or in flight. Wings had been looking over my shoulder at the butterfly cuff, and he mused aloud, "I should do one with your hawk, or your eagle" [there's a golden who visits occasionally; a bald more rarely still].

And thus today's all-new masterwork was born.

It's called Eagle's Gift, and it is . . . utterly extraordinary. It's cut entirely freehand of heavy fourteen-gauge sterling silver, all of a piece, wings and tailfeathers also scalloped by hand, and microstamped in a soft and graceful flutter of feathers:

But this one has a secret, and a gift: a overlay inside the inner band, a single eagle feather, falling, formed of 20-gauge sterling silver cut and scored and stamped freehand, with its own overlay shaft formed of hammered sterling silver braid wire:

And because that shot doesn't how it properly, I want you to see the inner band from another angle, so that you can get the full effect of the graceful drape (and scalloping) of the wings:

It's a phenomenal example of traditional Indigenous silversmithing techniques and motifs, and it can be yours. The full gallery entry is here. Wings's main page is here. Orders via the site's Contact form. We will still need to make consistent sales to make it through this third year of pandemic and loss, especially with extortionate tax payments due over the months to come, so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Friday Feature: From Water to Fire and Back Again

Photo copyright Aji, 2021; all rights reserved.

It's our Friday Feature at The NDN Silver Blog, with a work that, in the artist's trademark fashion, represents not only a unifying beauty, but also strength and power. It's a micaceous wedding vase, formed of elemental forces and with braided handle, reminding us that the path from water to fire and back again need not be one of harsh extremes, but one of unity and community.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. We received some good news a couple of weeks ago, and we will be able to cover January's outsized annual expenses now. But the pandemic rages unchecked and the economy is dead, and we have a long winter to come to get through, too. We are still going to need to make consistent sales to make it through the whole winter (one that has already been bitter indeed for our communities) and the rest of the year, so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

In a Liberated Light

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a trio of small messenger spirits given an old traditional form, arriving this year well out of season with a message we need to hear. It's Dragonfly, here as a collective, to remind us that adaptation is key to freedom, and that like such other children of Mother Earth, we, too, live in a liberated light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. And, as always, sales are very much needed (one big initial payment sent out yesterday, more medical expenses upcoming, and the holiday season that keeps us going through the long cold winter already here), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

#TBT: The Phases and Dust of the Bluest of Moons

Photo copyright Aji, 2018; all rights reserved.

It's #ThrowbackThursday at The NDN Silver Blog, with a commissioned work from the latter half of last year that seems prophetic now. In a week of powerful celestial convergence, it's a piece that captures the light from the phases and dust of the bluest of moons, holding it fast to be worn anytime.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. This one was part of a very special collection for a dear friend and is one of a kind, but if stones or style generally speak to your spirit, simply inquire via the site's Contact form; Wings can design a work uniquely your own. And, as always, sales are very much needed (especially now), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.
