Deep freeze.

Yes, we got snow, but it was only a dusting, even on the peaks. What we did get is the deep freeze, currently under way . . . and we got that because we got the winds that blow the storm out and the cold in, natch.

Which means that my joints are spectacularly unhappy now. Nothing jacks my pain into the stratosphere like wind does. No amount of heat or cold or humidity or anything else. So it hasn't exactly been a fun day.

And I'm late with everything, again, but I did get some mutual-aid stuff accomplished today, at least. I also made ham and potato soup, and there are croissants in the toaster oven right this moment. Dinner, at least, will be warm. Actually, the house is, too, because we've got the fires going.

But the exhaustion is real. We're both beat now, and the workload now looks about the same for all of the rest of this month as it has through the whole holiday season. For us, aside from beating back the Nazis and Klan, that also means that we need to have a much better sales year, with fewer catastrophes outside our control, than the last two have presented us. And that means, just to break even, at least one sale per week [and we haven't made one yet in 2026, so we're already behind, and we need to rectify that tonight]. To that end, links are here:

  • Sales here
  • Testimonials here
  • Amazon wishlist here [priorities are the rugs, to replace those destroyed 2 years ago by the leachfield collapse and ensuing septic disaster; and the LaminaSaver, because apparently Miika's out of it again];
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.
And we do still need to make those regular weekly [daily now, really] sales, so please share all of the links. We really do need to begin this year on a better footing than the last two.
