The Season of the First Snow

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a work for the conditions that used to normal here in October, including the season's first appearance of the snow line, both above and below us. It's a pair of earrings, the last work in Wings's signature series within a series, The Winter Elementals:  Earth, capturing all the haunting beauty and power of the season of the first snow.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. We still have to ensure that we break even on the year, and that begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

This is what it's like at this time of year.

More work in progress. This is what it's like at this time of year, every day, right up until Christmas.

And it's not just in the studio. There's so much work to be done outside, and I'm useless for most of it now that my illness has progressed so drastically. Aside from all the usual stuff, he also did a feed store run, stacked hay for Miika, stacked firewood, embedded humane traps for the destructive rodents that are tearing up everything, and . . . I forget what else, but there was more. And found time for studio work.

I am nowhere near so efficient with my own work right now. Not with two hands that are a broken mess, and two feet that are the same. Walking is extremely painful right now, to say nothing of how it wrecks my balance. My hands? Do you have any idea how long it takes me to type a single sentence with my left hand only? And that hand has a rupture, too; it's just less bad, less all-encompassing, than the one in my dominant hand right now.

The rest of the month, hell, year is going to be very hard, anyway. I've still got to get caught up on all the rest of my work, entirely apart from the now-several days I've lost here. And I've still got to bring in a lot more sales through the end of the year. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got some other big-ticket things to take care of between now and then, and that only happens if we make some sales now. And we can still use help with shares, testimonials, wishlist stuff, etc. To that end, links are here:

  • Sales here;
  • Testimonials here;
  • Amazon wishlist here [I've added a few new items, things we could really use but that I can't justify spending money on right now, towels and bath mats];
  • Patreon here;
  • Ko-fi here.
And we do still need to make those regular weekly sales, so please share all of the links. We really do need to get this year onto a better footing than the last two, a year that, so far, has been very grim.

The Sharp Edges and Angles of the Fall Light

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a work for these mid-autumn days with not a cloud visible in any direction, the sky raining sun upon a cooling earth. It's a pair of earrings in a beautifully geometric design, capturing the sharp edges and angles of the fall light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. We still have to ensure that we break even on the year, and that begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

Wings's latest.

Photo copyright Ai, 2026; all rights reserved.

Just look at the colors in that stone. Wings's latest; high-grade chrysocolla with pyrite matrix. There are also his two latest gemstone-bead necklaces that I have to get up on the site, and a sterling and onyx pendant besides.

I am SO far behind.

Two days with no Internet and my hands both failing me completely yesterday have me unable to get caught up. I still have social-media threads from Wednesday to run, plus yesterday's and today's; I also have all the Instas from yesterday to get posted, and I just cannot type that much right now. The pain is so bad that I also got no sleep last night, which means that my brain's not functional, either.

I am SO fucking tired.

The rest of the month, hell, year is going to be very hard, anyway. I've still got to get caught up on all the rest of my work, entirely apart from the two days I've lost here. Friday Feature: The Harvest Fire of the Autumn Light

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

It's our Friday Feature at The NDN Silver Blog, with a pair of works created far apart in time and wholly independently of each other, yet seeming undeniably to belong together now. It's a serpent cuff and a pair of figurative earrings, all in the shapes and shades and spirits of abundance and joy and the harvest fire of the autumn light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. We still have to ensure that we break even on the year, and that begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.

Not so much.

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

Hard freeze overnight, at long, long last, and so the woodbine leaves are wilted and brown. The fire maple? Not so much. A few different types of wildflowers survived it, too, so it couldn't have lasted very long.  Tonight's supposed to hit 27, so I suspect it will be colder for a longer period.

After 25.5 hours with no Internet, we've finally got it back. Losing a day and a half in what was already a short week has really fucked me over, though.  And it's all complicated by the fact that both hands are a broken mess, as are both feet. All this typing is killing me; the pain is unbearable, but it has to get done. Same with walking right now. The connective-tissue damage has subluxed joints in all four, and the RA has spawned a couple of new nodules in my hands, both placed, seemingly, to cause maximum pain.

I don't know how I get through the next several days if this doesn't let up.

The rest of the week is going to be very hard, anyway. I've still got to get caught up on all the rest of my work, entirely apart from the two days I've lost here. And I've still got to bring in a lot more sales through the end of the year. #ThrowbackThursday: In Autumn, Dormancy Is Also Jeweled Light

Photo copyright Aji, 2026; all rights reserved.

It’s #TBT at The NDN Silver Blog with a #ThrowbackThursday featured work from one of Wings’s longest-running signature series, the Warrior Woman, this one dating back just shy of ten years exactly. It's one from a group created in mid-December, 2016, either a commission or purchased before it could even be posted, this one a reminder that in autumn, dormancy is also jeweled light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. This work will never be duplicated, but if the style speaks to your spirit, simply inquire via the site's Contact form; Wings can create a version uniquely your own.  We still have to ensure that we break even on the year, and that begins with a minimum of one sale a week, without fail.
