Finally, a full range of fall color. That's the larger fire maple, and given what happened with the smaller one [leaves already dying in July because of the drought and excessive heat], we were afraid that we might not get any color in the larger one, either. So far, it's turning both on schedule and in its usual spectrum of color.
Out of order again tonight, because we have new work coming, which is why everything's so late. [Well, that and the fact that neither my body nor my brain is cooperating these days; I cannot get free of this crash.] But what's coming this evening?
Absolutely phenomenal. And I mean that literally as well as descriptively. [Hint: It involves a rare material, set into a work from one of his signature series, but probably not any of the ones you think.]
Anyway. It would great to sell it this weekend, plus a few other big-ticket items. We have a big expense coming up early next week, and I was given to believe that it would be half of what it's actually turning out to be, so we need to sell enough to cover that.
This weekend, come hell or . . . well, it sure as hell won't be high water here, but whatever, I've got to get caught up on all my work. And I've still got to bring in a lot more sales through the end of the year. This year has been hellishly expensive already, and we've also got some other big-ticket things to take care of between now and then, and that only happens if we make some sales now.
