Still light in the sky.

Last night. New moon, but still light in the sky, sun and evening star. And even though that particular shot doesn't capture and render it, the last couple of nights we've had the green gradients in the sky at sunset.

It's been a mostly good day so far, with one enormous exception. For a few days, we'd been hearing a rumor of a bear shot up at El Salto, and it was confirmed this morning. Not shot the way we thought, though; some soulless monster shot a young bear full of arrows, and it crawled up into a tree to get away, where it died. We have reason to believe it's the same one that had found safety and sustenance here at our place just a couple of weeks ago. 

I will say that whomever committed this atrocity? You just damned the remainder of your days. Spirit takes care of its own, and it will avenge its own, too. No need for human intervention; this was a life-long self-cursing act.

But aside from the heartbreak over what was done to one of our relatives, as I said, it's been a generally good day. Wings learned that the problem is not with his ears, but with the aids; they're defective, and are being sent back for replacement. We were also able to pick up supplies today, and get orders shipped, so it feels like more progress than I've made all week. Amazing what a few sales will do for productivity across the board. Light, indeed.

BUT: I still need to continue to make consistent sales to get us through the winter. And if you're planning on commissioning gifts for the holidays, DO IT NOW. [And that includes just ordinary orders for the holidays, too.] Yes, I mean NOW. We're dealing with the same supply-chain issues as everyone else, and at some point soon, Wings is going to have to get silver and stones to produce holiday inventory, and I'm hearing that the price is already spiking on the metals. More to the point of what customers care about, we also can't guarantee shipping times this year, because see above. But I've posted a ton of Wings's new work lately, and there will be more in the days and weeks to come. If I could sell one of the big works, like one of the belts, maybe I could get us on the drill list for the well that is the only thing that's going to keep this land alive. But I've got way too much to do and too few hours and other resources to do it.
