What passes for clouds these days.

That up there was late yesterday afternoon. That's what passes for clouds these days. Definitely not going to get any snow out of that. Supposedly we now suddenly have a couple of small chances at snow showers next week, but we'll see. The forecast will change ten times each day between now and then anyway.

One other reason why I want it just to get cold and snow is that I will have a little less pain than what is bedeviling me so badly now. As I said yesterday, this week is one of the worst I've had in a while, functionality-wise. It always happens at some point during the three-month holiday sprint, and I could see this one coming a mile away, but knowing that is frankly useless because there isn't a damn thing I can do to stop it or to ameliorate it. And this time it's complicated by the effects of the vaccine and the booster; as I suspected, my autoimmune diseases mean that I will have long-term, likely permanent, side effects from this. So now I'm in trouble, but there's nothing to do except ride it out (and get further and further behind in the process). And starting today, I have to turn what little functionality I have back to chasing sales.

Because, yeah, it always comes back to that: more sales. A lot more, because we have two years' worth of a shattered pandemic economy to make up for, by which I mean we need to gain more ground ourselves financially to be able to be sure of making it through the winter. And again, if you're planning on commissioning gifts for the holidays, DO IT NOW. [And that includes just ordinary orders for the holidays, too.] Yes, I mean NOW. We're dealing with the same supply-chain issues as everyone else, and at some point soon, Wings is going to have to get silver and stones to produce holiday inventory, and I'm hearing that the price is already spiking on the metals. More to the point of what customers care about, we also can't guarantee shipping times this year, because see above. But I've posted a ton of Wings's new work lately, and there will be more in the days and weeks to come. If I could sell one of the big works, like one of the belts, maybe I could get us on the drill list for the well that is the only thing that's going to keep this land alive. But I've got way too much to do and too few hours and other resources to do it.
