Turquoise Skies, and the Promise of Warmer Winds

Photo copyright Aji, 2018; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's one of Wings's more recent works, a piece named for summer's far edge but incorporating the motifs of spring's hopes and dreams. It's a cuff manifest in the color of turquoise skies, and the promise of warmer winds, one limned in the season's silvery light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. inquiries via the site's Contact form. And, as always, sales are very much needed (especially now; four of the next five days consist of the next round of medical appointments for us both), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Spring birds. Medical stuff ramping up hard and fast. Sales/shares badly needed.

Photo copyright Aji, 2018; all rights reserved.
Our mated pair of ravens. Talk about putting words in your partner's mouth.

Hectic, frazzled, confused day today. In other words, exactly what the rest of the week will be. One bit of progress on the house: Tony's working on the jamb and trim for that round window in the hallway; he called to arrange for the type of wood he needs for one part of it. They'll get back to the cabinetry in a couple of weeks.

Tomorrow, I'll be scarce; medical appointments and stuff. Also Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, so expect mostly just the minimum form me the rest of this week and into next week. All the more so because of my pain levels right now; this chest pain is something else. And as I said last night, I have to find a way to deal with this level of pain and fatigue and, yes, fear, while everyone else effs around with no sense of urgency whatsoever, and I haven't figured out those pieces of this yet. I've got more work to do tonight, so the rest is cut-and-paste.

I'm setting two separate goals, as outlined below, because they're both dunning me steadily now. The overall goal is my $25K+ in emergency medical bills. I've been trying to raise an initial $1,700 to take care of two specific bills: the local ambulance and one hospitalist's fee. We're $145 of the way toward it. Those are now covered (thank you, thank you again). The next goal is two-fold: One is the cost of the ambulance when they transferred me down to Albuquerque, which is $2K; the other is one of the Lovelace doctors, which is $1,500. That's $3,500 total, and the next phase of all this with regard to the new platform. Then I can turn my attention to the really big ones, which are the hospital bills themselves (Lovelace in particular is going to be bad, because, well, cardiac cath). A caveat: I have a lot of kinks to get worked out yet, but PayPal is now theoretically linked to the progress meter on the site. I say "theoretically," because I've just discovered that I apparently have to set up at least one other page to make the subscription "purchase" possible. Eventually, if you subscribe via PayPal (it's a monthly thing like Patreon), it will show, although for now the only way to do it is to hit the PayPal "Subscribe" button. I'm hoping to get that figured out and fixed tomorrow. I also need to figure out how to pin it to the main page, so for now, the only way to access it is here. Please share this link around on social media and elsewhere. I still need to raise the $3,500 as fast as possible, because there are thousands' worth of hospital bills stacked up behind it. It also means that we need sales and I need to get my subscription platform up and running (and you can still subscribe via PayPal even now). So here are the links:
  • Tonight's post elsewhere (how to dress for the equinox);
  • A way to buy me coffee (which actually goes to She-Wolf's & my medical bills, and now Wings's too);
  • Wings's direct PayPal link;
  • Wings's site, for sales;
  • Amazon wishlist, which mostly consists of food for the half-feral pack;
  • Wayfair gift cards, to replenish all the furnishings that the RV has destroyed in one way or another.
  • Partial registry #1, from Bed, Bath and Beyond. There are new kitchen-y things on it now, stuff that I didn't realize we'd need to replace (either because the RV ruined it or because we gave it away when we had to downsize).
  • Partial registry #2, from Wayfair. There are some things left on both registries that I thought by now I might be able just to buy outright, but medical bills (mine and She-Wolf's both) have to come first.

Please check out the new platform, share the links, get your friends to participate. I've got a long road ahead of me, just in terms of diagnosis and, I hope, eventually treatment. Being able to pay off the medical bills will go a long way toward keeping me as healthy as possible in the meantime. Thanks, everybody, from both of us.

Red Willow Spirit: A Song for a World at Midpoint

Photo copyright Wings, 2018; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's an edition of Red Willow Spirit for the first official day of spring. It's an exploration of some of the spirits of the season, those who on this day will sing a song for a world at midpoint, for parting clouds and indigo skies and a lengthening of the light.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. It's all photos today, and as always with Wings's work, they're available for purchase in any of the usual three formats; simply inquire via the site's Contact form. Also as always, sales are very much needed (especially now; the next round in this outsized list of medical appointments are spread out over the next three days), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

Storms, passing and otherwise. We need sales (and shares) badly.

Photo copyright Aji, 2018; all rights reserved.

A passing storm, far too far away to do us any good. From here, it looked like the skull of some great spirit buffalo. Unfortunately, this week is going to filled with storms of a different sort, and not mostly not the useful kind.

This is going to be a very tough week, just based on appointments alone. I will not be around much as a result. I already have too few hours in the day even to begin to do all I need to do. I also got another in-my-face reminder today of how violently successful erasure is, and how invisible I am to the dominant culture, and my confidence is at a spectacularly low ebb right now. I have more than enough to keep depression sucking me into its undertow; it doesn't need any additional help, thanks.

I need time to work, I need to have a brain functional enough to get this damn platform fixed and also functional, I need to get the stress of the medical bills off before it kills me anyway. I have none of those things, and no likelihood of that changing anytime soon, so I have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Unfortunately, that leaves me no energy (literally; walking, standing, bending over to pick up something all wipe me out right now) for anything else, so the rest is cut-and-paste. I have to find a way to deal with this level of pain and fatigue and, yes, fear, while everyone else effs around with no sense of urgency whatsoever, and I haven't figured out those pieces of this yet.

I'm setting two separate goals, as outlined below, because they're both dunning me steadily now. The overall goal is my $25K+ in emergency medical bills. I've been trying to raise an initial $1,700 to take care of two specific bills: the local ambulance and one hospitalist's fee. We're $145 of the way toward it. Those are now covered (thank you, thank you again). The next goal is two-fold: One is the cost of the ambulance when they transferred me down to Albuquerque, which is $2K; the other is one of the Lovelace doctors, which is $1,500. That's $3,500 total, and the next phase of all this with regard to the new platform.   • A way to buy me coffee (which actually goes to She-Wolf's & my medical bills, and now Wings's too);

Monday Photo Meditation: Time to Turn — and Turn to — the Earth

Photo copyright Wings, 2018; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a photo meditation for the last full day of official winter. Tomorrow is spring by the calendar's reckoning and new tasks a required of us, a time to turn — and turn to — the earth once again.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. As always, Wings's photos are available for purchase in any of the usual three formats; simply inquire via the site's Contact form. Also as always, sales are very much needed (especially now; seven appointments in two weeks, plus at least one and possibly two sets of tests added on top of that), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.

P.S.  Niagara Falls:  I see you.  Right now, and every freaking day.  Also Eagle, Eugene, and Tahlequah, I see all y'all, too.

Storms of various sorts. A lot of expense coming up fast. Sales and shares (and time) badly needed.

That was 10 AM. This was noon:

It's been snowing intermittently for a while, accompanied part of the time by gale-force winds. At least now we don't have to worry about our "home" literally being picked up and blown over in the storm.

It looks like there's more on the way, if the newly-darkened cloudbank to the west is any indication.

This weekend has been mostly a loss in terms of getting anything accomplished. Most of that is simple pain and fatigue on my part, but it's also not being able to get any uninterrupted time to myself to work, and certainly not being able to get the IgnitionDeck platform functional. I'm three months behind on that, and tearing my hair out, because I am quite literally running out of time. [Unfortunately, my unsolved and unresolved health issues mean that the possibility of quite literally running out of time is never far from my mind.]

The next two weeks are going to be hell. I added up all the appointments: seven definitely-scheduled medical appointments in a two-week period just between Wings and me. If all goes as expected, there will be two more in roughly that same time frame for me, each involving testing. Getting out of this month is going to cost us a fortune, on top the fortune we already owe.

As I said last night, I've also just shelled out for another doctor's appointment and two scrips totaling $200 (the scrips, not the visit; that's another $150 on top of it). And the bill collectors never rest, so I don't, either. The rest is cut and paste, because dammit, I'm beat, and I've still got a lot of work ahead of me tonight. Please share. And I still need IgnitionDeck expertise, if anyone's got it, and yes, I'll pay for it.

A World of Beauty and Balance

Photo copyright Aji, 2018; all rights reserved.

Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's one of my favorites among Wings's current works, one infused with a grounded, focused spirit. It's one that marks a return to center of all things, to Spirit who has given us a world of beauty and balance.

The post is here. Wings's main page is here. Inquiries via the site's Contact form. And, as always, sales are very much needed (especially now; six new appointments between us over the next week), so shares of the site links are much appreciated.
