Fifty-one degrees.

It's a full-scale thaw. These are last-days-of-April temperatures. They say snow showers tomorrow night into Sunday, but we'll believe it when we see it.

At this rate, apocalypse will be here before the next presidential term is out. The whole world is fiddling while it burns around them.

And there's no respite from any of it. We got the septic pumped this morning, another $225 quite literally down the drain, and the next go-round will be eight to ten days from now. It's breaking us financially. [There's nothing we can do before there's a deep enough spring thaw to dig. The problem is the apparent fuck-up of the leachfield, which means that the water can't flow out to it; it's the water level that's the problem, and we're conserving as much as we can.] I've also paid the insurance and utility bills, some of the platform stuff, and . . . I can't even remember right now, something else, plus the horse vet and farrier work yesterday, and we're now over $2K by the time it's all added up, all out the door in cash this week alone. And we still have taxes upcoming. The leach field disaster. All the interim septic pumping between now and then. My Patreon is still $250 short, and we've made exactly one sale so far this year. And at some point, I've got to start thinking about mobility [meaning a power wheelchair] , since I'm having so much trouble being on my feet for any length of time.

The need to make at least one sale a week never lets up, no more than the physical pain that makes everything so much more impossible. We were blessed with one the first week of the year, but now I need to do the same for this one, as well as make up for the lack of one last week, and no luck so far, and I'm tearing my hair out.
