Yes, out of order today. Too much going on and not enough time to cover everything. Also, Wings has five new pieces in the works, including those two above that look finished but are not quite yet, and all five should be done later today.

Also, we're changing the focus of the Friday Feature posts for the new calendar year, which is why waiting for completion of these becomes an issue. In the past, we had used Fridays to highlight work in our inventory by other Indigenous artists, a holdover from the years when we had a brick-and-mortar gallery. By now, though? There's precious little of that left, in relative terms. So we'll be using Fridays to feature probably mostly Wings's own work, through the lens of something specific to that day's item(s) — a slightly more in-depth exploration of some aspect, akin to the old Turquoise Tuesday, Jewels and Gems, or original #ThrowbackThursday posts. 

So that will likely not go up until this evening, or at least afternoon, but there's no reason not to post the rest of it now. I'll also have a post here tonight of all five of the new works.

Besides, I have a ton of other things to catch up on today. This month is slated to be an absolute mess of appointments, except that I'm waiting to see if they need to be rescheduled because Omicron is everywhere now. To top it off, I've had almost no sleep for weeks now, and the pain just keeps ramping up with no end in sight, to the point that I can barely walk at the moment; the last eight days have been pure misery in terms of pain. But this is our most expensive month of the year (followed very closely by July; I'm not even including April, which is tax month, in all of this). So while we had a far better holiday sales season than I could ever have hoped, we still have to keep the cycle going. This is our livelihood, after all, and there's a lot of expense ahead, medical and otherwise (and this has to be the year the drill the well because there's no other option at this point; "first thing," indeed).

So, as always, it comes back to that: more sales. A lot more, because we have two years' worth of a shattered pandemic economy to make up for, by which I mean we need to gain more ground ourselves financially to be able to be sure of making it through the winter and the rest of the year. I've posted a ton of Wings's new work lately, and there will be more in the days and weeks to come. If I could sell one of the big works, like one of the belts, maybe I could get us on the drill list for the well that is the only thing that's going to keep this land alive. But I've got way too much to do and too few hours and other resources to do it. Which means that I'll be stepping back significantly in terms of my online presence, because there's just too much else to do, and I am no longer well enough to maintain the kind of pace I once did.
