Now posted at The NDN Silver Blog, it's a photo meditation for an unseasonably cold Monday when a veil of clouds threatens as-yet-unrealized rain and trickster winds still bring the smoke and flames. It's an image from nineteen years ago, with Wings as witness and photographer simultaneously, and a generation later, it still reminds us that knowledge of these unforgettable fires is necessary to keep our world from going up in smoke.
