One of the two "new" planters [made by cutting apart one of our old galvanized steel horse troughs to create two of them]. Wings planted some starters in them both today, and they're beautiful. We're planning to get the corn in the ground by the end of the week, but the plot needs to be tilled one more time first thanks to all the rain, and the next two days are going to be all gale-force winds, which is a no when it comes to working outside in the dirt.

At least there's some local color, so to speak, again finally.

And yes, i'm behind because I've been doing a bunch of household things [and other business things] all day, so the posts get bumped to tonight again. But I still need to promote the matching-funds offer for Jen's Spotfund for her truck repair. If we can raise $1,300 by midnight Wednesday [05/04]? The donor will match the whole $1,300! As of yesterday morning, we still need to raise $960; now, we only need to raise $655, which is pretty impressive for a Sunday that's also a holiday. We also made a sales over the weekend that gives us a little breathing room. That said, we're SO far behind on everything, courtesy of two frankly terrible years in a row with a ton of emergency expenses of the kind no one can anticipate, that I still need to bring in consistent weekly sales now. I still have to be able to pay the rest of this year's taxes and start prepaying next year's; I can't go through that nonsense again for another year in a row. I also have to cover the well pump replacement, the tires and another repair on the truck, and there are family things coming up that we'll have to help with one way or another. And Spirit only knows what's waiting for me health-wise, but I have to think in those terms, too, no matter how much I want to avoid it [and I suspect the bare minimum will be a bunch of costly labs at the end of this month, which, I should note, are actually more than a year overdue now].
