Sometimes, not what you planned turns out to be better.

Look at all that snow still up there! This is literally the best snow the peaks have gotten in more than a year. After all, this winter's temperatures ranged from 30 to 50 degrees too warm, so whatever small amount occasionally fell, it was already mostly gone the next day. This week's accumulation clearly was deep enough to survive for a few days.

And it's SO desperately needed.

It's not the day I had planned, but sometimes, not what you planned turns out to be better. Among other things, we have matching funds on offer to close out Jen's Spotfund for her truck repair! We have also been fortunate enough to make a good sale this morning, which gives us a little breathing room. That said, we're SO far behind on everything, courtesy of two frankly terrible years in a row with a ton of emergency expenses of the kind no one can anticipate, that I still need to bring in consistent weekly sales now. I still have to be able to pay the rest of this year's taxes and start prepaying next year's; I can't go through that nonsense again for another year in a row. I also have to cover the well pump replacement, the tires and another repair on the truck, and there are family things coming up that we'll have to help with one way or another. And Spirit only knows what's waiting for me health-wise, but I have to think in those terms, too, no matter how much I want to avoid it [and I suspect the bare minimum will be a bunch of costly labs at the end of this month, which, I should note, are actually more than a year overdue now].
