Introducing Six New Works By Wings

I said that I would have more new pieces soon, and tonight's the night: introducing six new works by Wings.

He's been at it full-bore in the studio lately, with some commissioned/special order pieces in the works, plus building inventory with these, plus a few BIG items in various stages of the creative process. These are the first few, beginning with the cuff shown above, wrought in solid sterling silver. It's a hand-milled, hand-shaped anticlastic cuff called When the Flowers Dance, and you can read its full description here.

The second piece is also a cuff, also solid sterling silver, and it belongs to a family of earlier works:

This one is called The Arc of the Light, and it really does live up to its name. Two things to know about this one: It's also hand-milled, out of heavy-gauge sterling; and it's designed for a much smaller wrist than usual (outer band is barely 6"; inner band more like 5.5"). You can read its full description here.

The next four items are rings, all with a distinct family resemblance: solitaires, each with a different and unusually beautiful gemstone cabochon. The first is a personal favorite:

This one is called Firefly Glow, for the brilliant luminous green some fireflies display this time of year. Sterling silver and jade, and that jade channels the light like you would not believe (check out the second image below the description at the link). That description is here.

The second ring is also built around shades of green, but of a very different sort:

This one is called The Jewel On the Vine, and when you look closer at the band you'll see why. Speaking of banding, that malachite focal stone is brimming with color, and the vines of the name appear in the sterling silver band. You'll find the description here.

The third ring is another favorite, and stone and band pattern could not be more perfectly matched if the earth had designed it that way:

This is The Flowering of the Sun, and that cabochon looks EXACTLY like that in real life. Sterling silver and tiger's eye, but the stone has literally no banding in it; it's all chatoyant light, flowing and fluttering at the edges just as you see here, just like the petals of the poppies that trace the band. That description can be found here.

And last but by no means least, it's a band with a vaguely Art Deco sensibility and a stone that's just been waiting for the perfect setting:

This is Braided Skies, named for silver and stone alike. The band is sterling, scored in a weave-like pattern; the cabochon is an extraordinary specimen of blue lace agate, the lines perfectly parallel and just as perfectly lacy as the clouds in the desert sky. You can read the description here.
