The taxes are in! Submitted via the preparer. Now we just have to write a very big check that still will not begin to cover the total, and mail that tomorrow. 

Still, it wound up being $3K less than I expected. Which is, apparently, what happens when you have your office in your home and you have three huge repair things that total five figures worth of cash expense go wrong in the same year.

I credit Lilith with today's better luck. It's been eleven years, which can't be possible, but there it is. It was 4:16 PM on this date in 2014 that our little Kachina Girl [Wings's nickname for her] left us, and at that time this afternoon, as I was visiting her resting place, the female bluebird in the photo settled on the tall post directly above her grave. In my language, the word for bluebird shares a root with the word "grace," and since this little girl stuck around with me the whole time, not leaving until I did, I'm guessing our little warrior girl sent her. Or maybe she was our little warrior girl, the demon-goddess given such a horrible start in life but who was happy with us, and had a much better and longer life because of it.

And I miss her every single day.

Right now, I'm just glad to have the paperwork off my desk for the moment. I'm going to have to bring in a great many more sales to cover it all, and everything else besides. but maybe once the worst month of the year is done, people will start buying again. [Taxes are part of that, yes, but even more because it's a month with four markers of grief in it for us.]

For two years, though, I've been very literally killing myself trying to cover everything, and it is what it is, and I'm too tired to give a shit anymore. My illness is progressing, and the world is on fire, and right now, I'm tapped out on every level. But the world doesn't give a shit, so we need to bring in more sales, a lot of them, immediately. We're out of time.
