Later than planned, but here: Two extraordinary new works by Wings.

All right. It's been a day, and then some. But I've been trying to get these posted for three or four days now [actually, both were up on the site last night, but I haven't had time to highlight them here]. So here we are — later than planned, but here:  Two extraordinary new works by Wings.

First up is the absolutely phenomenal new necklace you see above. There's a close-up shot of the pendant here:

This is A World Born of the Waters, and I almost don't have words to describe it. The pendant is manifest as Grandmother Turtle, and here, she's saw-cut and stamped entirely freehand.  At the center, in a bezel also wrought entirely by hand, from cutwork to file-work, is a fabulous outsized inverted teardrop of ultra-high-grade water-web Kingman turquoise, so glossy it looks like it's wet all the time. It's ringed by en embrasure of tiny small polished turquoise chips, and these are OLD, all from Wings's private collection, and each one has been selected and paced individually around the focal: Skystone scales, so to speak. Strung on a hand-made strand of solid sterling silver beads. You can read its full description here.

The second work is a cuff, and it's built around an amazing focal stone, too [if not as rare or as high-value as the one above]:

This is called Stars Too Are Born of Water, because they are, and did know that in addition to water, out bodies are also made of literal stardust? It's a dual-strand cuff formed of solid sterling silver half-round wire, gorgeous three-dimensional starbursts stamped freehand down the convex surface of each strand, with crescents on the impossibly narrow edges and more traditionally-spoked stars at the ends.  At the center, again, in a bezel wrought entirely by hand, sits a large oval of natural Fox turquoise from Nevada, and its matrix patterns really do make it look like a galaxy, a nebula, the birth of stars made visible. You can read its full description here.

As always, Wings's main page is here. Order via the site's Contact form. And with fewer than three months left in this fourth year of pandemic and loss, and facing enormous expenses in the middle of our worst sales year in a very long time, we need more than ever to make consistent sales now, so shares are very much needed and much appreciated.
