Watchful. That's all of us right now: harrier; red-tailed hawk; kestrel. Us. Too much going on out in the world that we need to be wary of.
The dental work is still up in the air. We both feel like crap, but that could be entirely from the juniper pollen that's everywhere right now. Or not. There's no way to tell, and the media in this state are so thoroughly irresponsible that they're both headlining and actually reporting the lack of confirmed COVID-19 cases as "confirmation" that there is "no coronavirus in New Mexico." Now despite being obviously, patently untrue in the general sense (COVID-19 is not remotely the only coronavirus and there are plenty of the broader category of viruses floating around everywhere at any given moment), we have no way of knowing, given the murderously negligent behavior of the feds and the fact that, especially in our area, we're full up to the gills with people who both travel all over the place and engage in high-risk behaviors with regard to preventing transmission. [And while it shouldn't need to be said, my point about "travel" has nothing to do with China or Asian folks and everything to do with the fact that the wealthy colonizers here spend inordinate amounts of time and money in and on airports and airplanes and concerts and travel venues and other places where masses of people are brought together in close quarters, and while they'll buy up every bottle of Purell in the county and leave none for anyone else, they won't cover their mouths when they cough directly on you.] What our doctor has to say tomorrow will dictate whether it gets pushed back or not.
Today has otherwise been a bureaucratic nightmare on other fronts, entirely the fault of the feds and their racism, and all made the worse by the fact that I'm operating on no sleep and a massive migraine. And none of this gives me any respite from the need to bring in income. On top of the pressures that accompany Wings's dental work, it's going to be costly for other reasons. Between the tow and the garage bill, we had to shell out $700 cash that I had already allocated for other expenses. That's $700 on top of the regular bills for the month, most of which are due this week. So I have to make up four figures' worth fast, which means I've got to start bringing in some scratch from sales, subscriptions, everywhere and anywhere I can, especially since we don't have a fix on Wings's recovery time from all this slated for next week. We'll have a major new piece up tomorrow, so please watch for it, because we need help to make sales. The links are here:
