Wings's Two Latest Works

All right, so I've been promising these for a week now. They've actually been up on the site all that time, but until now, I haven't had time to feature them here: Wings's two latest works.

Those of you who follow these posts will recognize a similarity between the first one, above, and a certain #TBT post from early in the year. Wings created a cuff with this kind of nugget overlay effect for me for Christmas, and this is a larger version modeled on, but not identical to, that one. This one is called Cobblestone Sky, and it's significantly wider, which means that it has a much larger proportion of these old, old, OLD natural turquoise nuggets from his private collection overlaid in the big center space. It's all bordered by hammered sterling silver braid wire (my own featured stamped half-round wire). You can read its full description here; it's fabulous.

The second item is a pair of earrings:

These are equally fabulous, albeit in a very different way. These are called Deeply Rooted: hand-punched medallions more than an inch across (1-3/8", to be exact), with incredible ajouré Tree of Life motifs saw-cut freehand into the center of each. The saw-work goes all the way through, so you get the same image on the reverse; on the front, each has a rootball of perfect royal blue lapis lazuli, and tiny geometric butterflies ring the edges. I've jettisoned all of that work in favor of getting our taxes organizing and turned over (with my brain fog, no small feat, and certainly nothing that can be done fast). Now, we're going to have a big check to write next week, and I have absolutely no feel for how much, but knowing that we will also have quarterly taxes to pay for next year, plus some other big medical bills over the next two months, I'd feel a lot better if I could bring in a good $4-5K over the week.  That would mean a couple of big sales, or a whole bunch of ordinary ones.
