Our own little golden grove.
It as a beautiful day, and a little cooler, too, which was nice. Also, I did not have to go anywhere, which was extra-nice after this week. And on top of that, a friend came to pick up an order, and it was good for both of us to see him again.
These are the things that make life good, no matter what else is going on out there.
In addition, the state has apparently begun funding everyone's SNAP cards in full. It's an end run around the feds' illegal bullshit, although it does not make up for their earlier illegality in unilaterally slashing people's allocations 6 months ago [which is not their purview, and yes, it was and is illegal]. And I'm not here to debate anybody's vibes when the facts are clear, and they are. I can't help it if colonial white supremacy is always on the wrong fucking side, by definition. That's a you problem.
As I said yesterday, this grocery-card project for folks losing SNAP was fast becoming a full-time job, and I already have more than one of those, so I'm glad it's easing off for now, at least. I suspect we will be right back here again in December, or maybe even before, but hopefully not this bad for folks in this state as it has been until now.
Of course, I also said that this weekend is going to have to be devoted to chasing sales, and I haven't has time to do a damn thing about tht until now. After this god-awful year, we still need to make a sale a day now, on average, and we're nowhere near that. The last two years have all but killed us financially, and I need to get us caught up to make it through the end of the year.
