Snowcrust Moon

First lines:

It’s a Trickster season, the Snowcrust Moon: warm enough to melt the snow to water one day; hardened to a a rime of slick dirty ice the next.

Here, it’s accompanied by thin blue skies and too much harsh wan light and winds that will rip apart the seams of your coat, given half a chance.

“April is the cruelest month,” says the viciously talented old bigot, but my money’s always been on March.
