Bathroom fixtures! And miles to go before we sleep. Shares needed.

Well, the 8AM-noon delivery period wound up being the last one of the day, around 4PM. It wasn't the delivery guys' fault; apparently the dock didn't have anything ready and organized. Fortunately, they found everything, and it's all now here at long last.

This round.

The next big things are going to be flooring and paint. The latter will obviously be a lot less than the former, but we'll need both, and soon. As it turns out, we're not going to tape and texture any part of the downstairs; the crew is going to plaster the whole thing. If I decide I want color in the kitchen, bath, and utility room, I can paint over it. If not, it'll all match throughout the first floor. But it'll save us a hefty chunk in the short term.

In the meantime, I've got to generate sales and funds from all available sources, because I've got to turn my attention to the next big expenses. Those are, in terms of materials, the flooring, and of course the one constant, labor. So we need shares. Consistent, daily shares:
  • Shares of Wings's site; sales also fund the construction (indeed, they are the baseline for it). Testimonials help.
  • I've added Lowe's gift cards to our Amazon wishlist. We're having to spring for lumber, lath, and plaster material locally (some of the lumber and a badly-needed saw were bought today). The rest of what makes it habitable — flooring, paint, appliances, etc. — are coming from Lowe's, which is giving us the best selection and price, and therefore best bang for our buck, but it's still a lot. A LOT. And so one of the best, most immediate ways to help at this point is with Lowe's gift cards. I have three separate denominations posted on the wishlist, but cards in any amount whatsoever are useful; they all go into the same pool.
Still, before you share our links, please go share Laura's. Lin's spirit is where the water meets the light, but Laura will still need our help for a while. Please T/R/share/donate to her fund if you can. Especially that last. It's needed.

Sleep is still in short supply, although stress is not, and I am absolutely beat. As I said last night, the second fire, and the risk of it in the house due to the original faulty wiring job, really did a number on my head; the continual issues with the wiring and the mounting expenses are only making it worse. As much incredible progress as has been made, as thrilled as we are to see it finally beginning to look like a house, there is still such a very, very long way to go to make it habitable. So please continue to share all the links above on a daily basis.

Thanks, everyone.
